Saturday Plans

Okay, I know everyone is sick of all the whining, weeping and gnashing of teeth about the cold weather.  But I need you to know that I slept in a turtleneck and a sweatshirt last night.  It was -1 this morning, but has warmed to a sweltering 6 right now.  However, I am not going to dwell on that.  I have my battles to do.  My day will be filled with dealing with the wildlife here.

Just look at that %$#&%@*&% squirrel.  And he has lots of friends.  They actually ate another feeder.  Ate. The. Feeder.  Gah.

Meanwhile, in Costa Rica, the Mental P Rugrats report an oversized bathroom and a forecast high of 87 today.  Augie sent some pictures to me.  I am guessing their day will be slightly different.  I hope they don't strain themselves deciding which chair to settle in for the day.

Did I mention that I had to sleep in a turtleneck and a sweatshirt?

This is all wrong, all wrong I tell you. Lucky little darlings.

Is it too early for wine? What about a mimosa?

Husbands in Arizona, kids in Costa Rica. Where is the justice?

CGW - the orange juice would freeze - how about the champagne just straight?

Minus one? I have no advice. Why are the squirrels moving when it's that cold out? I thought you were winning that war?

Our squirrels here must be related to yours. They've eaten a feeder also. My husband has been feeding them on the picnic table so they don't destroy another one.

Squirrels need love, too.

And then we're going to shoot them and skin them and cook 'em in a pot. They taste like chicken, ya know. Aand that's how we's country folks handle squirrels.

OMG. Why do I fib so?

Oh man, I don't know which is worse, you and the single digits, or your horrible children enjoying themselves in that beautiful place. Oh the injustices of life.

Turtle neck to bed??? Where are those darn hot flashes when you need them?

I feel your pain about the squirrels. While we haven't been dealing with them in Texas, they were rascals when we lived in Ohio! Especially in the winter.

I will trade places with you gladly!!! You are burning more calories though. Okay, I know that doesn't make you feel better.

Poor little critters...but at least they have some special like you to look out for them.

Your kids are so very lucky! You, not so mcuh, but I will trade places with you?

By help, you mean therapy, right? Those folks gave up on me a LONG time ago.

Hot toddies by the fire?

Love ya,

Marlene

Poor, poor Mental P. Sleep in a bikini tonight and imagine yourself in Costa Rica. I'm sure Mr. Mental P will keep you warm if you sleep in a bikini ...

Costa Rica looks lovely... hope they're having fun.

We battle w/ the squirrels every weekend, but they've learned to hide when hubby is home. The little rats. Last week our electricity went out twice thanks to the little devils.

I slept in a fleece and two pairs of socks. Dead sexy, I'm told.

We had squirrels who started by visiting our bird feeders and ended up nesting in our attic. So beware.

Stay warm!

Mary

Will your ex adopt me?

Ate the feeder!?! That's a good one.

We gave up on bird feeders because the mice kept bringing the seeds into the house. Life was much better without that.

Suz here.....
I feel for you in your sweatshirt AND turtleneck. That is weather for penguins and polar bears. No one else should have to take it.

Squirrels are ravenous creatures. I only have a few, so I tolerate them and they tolerate me. :)

**I stayed at the same exact hotel as your kids are at right now. It is GLORIOUS!!!!**

I'm not being me...I'm really NOT, but I'm wearing flip flops and going to the beach today. Okay, that was a little mean.
Look at it this way, I haven't seen a squirrel in 15 years and look how cute he is. :)

This is just plain wrong. At least when David just left to go BACK after 24 hours here, he was freezing too. It's a whopping 28 here and was 8 this morning.

Winter bites.

Mental, are you sure it was the squirrels who ate the feeder? :)

Shoot! You win. I was going to complain because it was THREE degrees here this morning. Compared to you, we were having a heat wave. Last night, I slept in pj's, a sweatshirt and socks. SEXY!!!

"Gnashing of the teeth..."

That made me giggle out loud :)

Want to know something weird? I've never seen a squirrel in our neighborhood. It's nice, but kind of odd when you think about it.

I started to tell him I could tell him anything he woudl not know the difference... when His mom died his brothers and sisters aasked ME when their mom was born (the year because they could not decide) we argued a bit the boys believed me the girls did not ... I was correct... Sigh... thats me the DORK.

A nice coat lined with squirrel fur might keep your warm.

Eating bird feeders? Well I never!! But I do agree with Country Girl only it should be a squirrel on a stick roasted on an open flame. Har har! Just jokin!

Hilary said...

I believe it. I'm always cold. I sleep in layers too. And two blankies.

Get out your shotgun! I love Marvin's squirrel-lined coat solution!

I hate Hate HATE the cold! Ah!!! Yesterday, it warmed up some, but I was still freezing. My manfriend kept asking me why I was so cold. You think he could figure it out, poor thing. The weather froze that part of his brain. (Not really. He is wonderful. The cold is making me crabby. Although, I think it is too cold for crabs as well...)
