Shoe Megashop

I am a little too excited today at this happy news.
I may be the first person through the door.
Seriously.

"All is not gloom on the Westport retail front. After being vacant for about two years, the 11,000-square foot space once occupied by Genovese Drugs at 1076 Post Road East next to Barnes & Noble has been leased to Marshalls for a Shoe Megashop. The store is only the second standalone Shoe Megashop (the other is in Scarsdale) of a concept that is part of a number of Marshalls stores. It features designer name shoes at discount prices for kids, teens and adults. Opening is set for between March 15 and April 1. Parent TJX Companies also owns HomeGoods which opened on Post Road East near the Fairfield line in September in space formerly occupied by Toys ‘R’ Us. When I come visit we will go shopping there. Marshall's has the BEST prices and such a great selection. And a Mega store? Be still, my heart.

Sometimes I am an embarrasment to my gender. For example, I am not interested in shoes, jewelry, or clothes. i have no interest in fashion whatsoever. What is WRONG with me???? Given a choice, I would take scrap supplies or camera equipment. {sigh} Shoes would be cheaper...

wow I had no idea the TJX group even had massive shoe stories.

I must keep this fact from the other half....
I love homegoods and TJ Maxx...without them my house would be empty, and Id have two shirts to wear.

Please no injuries! I do not want to see you on the news busting down the doors or trampling over little old ladies! Those "oh mama" shoes I gave you for your birthday should should be comfy strolling down the isles!

How soon do I need to bring the tent and camping out supplies to you? I know you will be first in line then.

Did you say that the 2010 East Coast Blogfest was going to be held in your neck of the woods? Good. Then I can come check this place out.

There's no such thing as too much toilet paper, and there's no such thing as too many shoes.

Hmm... shopping.

I think the best part is that it isn't a CVS or RiteAid.

I know you are just hoping to find those sexy lucite shoes.

Oh. My. God. I would dearly love to have a mecca like that near me. I just have to make Zappos spend a fortune on shipping to & fro, until I find the right fit...

Mr. Snoots abhors my house slippers. What do you want to bet he'd love it if I wore a pair of those *%@# Me lucite shoes. Not that I would even attempt a pair of those. I'm just sayin'.

My ultimate shoe fantasy is having a zillion pairs of flip flops and the weather to go with them. Anything enclosed is simply for safety and warmth.

I love shoes, but have to wear ugly ones 'cause my feet hurt in the girlie ones. :(

OMGosh! I want to live next door to you right now!

Shall we look forward to something in acrylic, perhaps?

A SHOE MEGASHOP? Be still my heart. I may have to make a pilgrimage there just to see it. Seriously, how fun! And that there is a HomeGoods in the vicinity, too? Even better. You get all the good stores!

I would EXPECT you to be the first in the door...don't let me down, my friend! BWAHAHAHA!

Once you find out a date - drop me a line - how could I refuse the opening of a mega shoe emporium??

(do you think they'll have a lucite section?)

The above "SJ" was me - I hit the wrong button.

I hoped that by now, you could figure out it was me, but just in case...
