I'm Hungry

Today, we start a new health kick with some of our favorite bloggers.  If you want to join in, go visit Big Hair Envy, and figure out how you want to get in shape.  I am feeling sorta blah.  I don't know why.  Maybe because I am 40 pounds heavier than I was 2 years ago.  Maybe because I have a stupid skinny little doctor who won't give me any thyroid meds.  Maybe it's the bottle glass of wine I drink at night. Maybe it really is about portion control.  If you take the serving spoon and scoop stroganoff into your gullet mouth, does that count as calories?  What does it mean when your muffin top actually gets firm?  Too much lifting of the arms?  Bending of the elbows?

All I can tell you is this, if you are looking for my usual, charming self for the next ten days. --  Are you listening Squazz?  -- Stay away.  Because Mama is going on the Sonoma Diet.

It won't be pretty, but I hope to get started on this load little bit of weight I seem to have gained.  And I can have a glass of wine in 10 days.  I don't blame you if you stay away until then.  My kids may be looking for a home by tomorrow.

Thanks.

Alleycat bought me a plaque for Christmas that states, "Every time I say the word diet I wash my mouth out with chocolate."

She knows me well.

Good luck. For now I'm content with being fat and sassy.

Oh, why are you doing this publicly? I hate that word DIET. It had all negative connotations. Why not say it is a life style change? You know, like my affirmations...not resolutions.
And why is that that we women tend to gain 40 pounds over a two year period between 49 and 50? Not fair..my hubby could still fit into his Air Force uniform from 38 years ago.
Good luck my friend.
Maybe I'll go join, too!

I've never heard of that diet before.
I've started my H2O diet today.
I am back to drinking 8 bottles of water daily.
I get so full from all that water that there isn't much room left for any food.
The downside is I can't travel too far from my bathroom.

I was hoping tomorrow really wouldn't come...cuz I told myself I was getting serious with W.W. again on Monday the 5th instead of being on the seefood diet...you see food and hang around and graze!!! Man am I going to miss grazing...I seriously have bulimia...just forgetting to throw up....good luck with your diet...are you still doing the cod liver drink?

Once again - I think for the 300th time, losing weight is MY resolution, too.

If all of us were actually successful, wouldn't we throw off the earth's gravity?

Would we be "taking one for the team" by NOT losing weight and saving the world??

Hmm?
Ya think?
Yeah, me neither...pass the celery!

Ewww. I don't envy you. I did the Scarsdale diet once and my husband begged me to stop. I was one mean b*tch for 10 days. Now I just do this thing gradually. Holidays don't count. :)

When Mama hungry, ain't nobody happy. Isn't that how the saying goes?

Seriously, good luck.

I see that your daily wine portions and mine are exactly the same.

Good luck over the next 10 days. If it gets bad, go into that skinny little doctor's office with a baseball bat in one hand and a meat cleaver in the other and demand a prescription.

I've gotta do something soon, too. You can do this, ok?
Stay away from the wine. I am rooting for you from Maryland. YOU CAN DO THIS!

I hear ya! I've been feeling kind of down about the weight thing too. So..... you're not alone in this, baby. I'll be happy to give you my number so we can cry together! :)

We can do this!

Sending you thoughts of strength, resolve, and resolution.

I will exercise (more) before I give up my glass (or two) of wine ...

Which is why you can find me (again) at the gym at 5:15 in the morning. *sigh* I HATE the "e" word, but cannot even contemplate the "d" word.

Go mama!

I am right here with ya sister, although I haven't put out warnings yet...it makes everyone laugh out loud at me.

We CAN do this...well, at least for me...I can do this TODAY.

Good luck with this! You can do it. (Can't you??). I'm not sure I'd have that 10 day no wine willpower. Especially on the weekends with a nice fire in the fireplace!

Best of Luck Mama! I'm pulling for you. I believe you can do it!

But I'm not on board. With no mental prep time and a strong lack of committment, I wouldn't do well. I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines!

Go Mama!

Wow. I have to wait 14 days before I can have wine. I hope it doesn't kill me!

Did you get my email about the Blogapalooza? I sent it to the email address on your site. If you have a different one, let me know.....I have more information to send to you today:)

When I saw it was the SONOMA diet, the first thing I thought was, SONOMA? SONOMA? THERE HAS TO BE WINE INVOLVED! I say good for you for finding a way to have this major nutritional group included in your new diet. And I know you can do it; no, it may not be pretty at the beginning, but you can and will do it.

I might just mosey over to Big Hair Envy and see what it's all about. I'm not saying I'll do anything; I'm just going to take a look. Just sayin'...

This morning's weigh in did NOT go well, just like last Monday's and the one before. The Fiance says I'm obsessing over numbers. I say I just want to be healthy and my current weight? Ain't.

I'm in. Good luck to us all.

Good luck! Diets are such a pain! Surely they were all invented by those skinny little doctors who don't have any weight to lose!

I just installed "Lose It" on my iPhone. And then someone brought See's peanut brittle into the office...

Oh, ya, we are all in the same "sinking" boat. I am forcing myself as well...back to WW. And, they are having a "biggest loser" partners contest here at work, so joined up. Oh, my, oh, my.

Mama, you can have wine, just don't swallow it. Then go wrap yourself in an electric blanket...creates the same effect...sort of...

Can I send BHE to your house so you two can be miserable together?

Good luck to you mama! I'll stay tuned for the next ten and then decide if I have the 'guts' to join in ;)

MPM - I sent a note to your MPM mailbox - the date change should be fine pending one other person's confirmation...then we're good to go.

I hope this is a good one. I haven't heard of this particular diet. I was thinking about what type of diet I wanted to go on. Then I stopped thinking and went to bed. Maybe tomorrow.

What does it mean if your muffin top gets firm, lol I love it! I am cursing the muffin top. I want to go back to the days when I had no idea what that meant.

Debbie said...

I can't diet, but I'm going to cheer you on! I already think of you when I'm sitting in the recliner looking over at the treadmill. I can see my Pilates video unopened over >>>>there. You're going to motivate to finally MOVE.

Good luck, hon and I'm holding you accountable, now....let's do it!

Mary said...

I started today, too. Not the Sonoma diet, but just the don't- eat- anything diet. And the walk- 5 miles- a- day diet. And the I'll -be- cranky- till- spring diet.

Good luck, Lauren!
xoxo,
Mary
