College Visit Chatter

Mental Mama (cheerleader-like): Ohhhh look! Isn't this wonderful?

Bird (distracted/irritated): mmm

Mental Mama(still cheerful): Look at the gardens! So beautiful!

Bird (barely tolerant): mmm

Mental Mama (hungry yet cheerful): This food court is great. Look at all the options. Oh my word, we are going to have so much fun here!

Bird ( horrified): We??????

LOL, yeah, sometimes Moms are just so embarrassing. Just another service we provide ;-)

Thank goodness you got the memo about the exact right thing to say to embarrass your daughter. Mine still live in fear! They know it could happen at any time.

Don't you just hate it when the baby birds you nurtured so long get their wings? You found them nice juicy worms, plucked your own feathers to make the nest comfy and warm, and what do they do? They spread those little wings and you are a distant memory--at least til a bigger bird gets too close, then they want back under your nice big wing. They may be finding their own way, but they always come back, and the older they get, the smarter you get. Lots of luck on the colleges.

I am so glad basketball season is still on...I can put off the inevitable (for a little longer...)

LOL
I'm happy, too, to provide embarrassment for my children. My "pay-it-forward" duty for the heaps of humiliation my parents put on me when I was a kid. :-p

Same thing happened when I was visiting colleges with my oldest son. I was looking at places where we'd hang out together, you know, when I came down to visit him? Good thing I didn't say it out loud, though.

Funny!
