This-n-That Thursday

Of all the things I've lost, it's my mind I miss the most:
  • Raquel Welch is doing commercials for Foster Grants glasses again.  Foster Grant reading glasses.  Gah.
  • I am never watching The Bachelor again.  I have seen three episodes in my entire life.  The last three.  I am totally Team Melissa.  And I cannot stand that phony Jason.
  • Why do bruises last longer the older you get?
  • I haven't worn my new red cowboy boots yet.  I just look at them and take pictures of them.  And wait til you see what Kate has done to the pictures!  Can you say texturitization?
  • I saw somewhere that Ron Howard's daughter just turned 28!  Opie Taylor has a 28 year old kid???  I am officially old.
  • Speaking of Opie, I wish they would play other old shows on TVland.  Like Family Affair.  Didn't you just love Uncle Bill?  And Mr. French? And My Three Sons?  That was another good one.  Uncle Charlie was awesome.
  • I also wish Shauna Sand would go walking about in those lucite shoes soon.  I miss her.  I might need help.
  • I need a life.
  • But wait.  What old shows do you want to see back on the tube?  Let's start a petition.  Some more from me:
Big Valley
The High Chaparral
The Courtship of Eddie's Father
Julia
Medical Center
Get Smart
Scooby Doo (the hour-long one)
Petticoat Junction
The Dick Van Dyke Show
Sonny and Cher Hour
Laugh In
That Girl
Bullwinkle and Rocky
Dark Shadows
Bewitched (pre-Tabitha)
Yours?

Not too many sitcoms floated my boat but I loved Coach and Alf.

And the Golden Girls.

How about Green Acres. Love Arnold Ziffel. Was that his relative in yesterday's picture? Do you think he became an Easter ham?

Carol Burnett and All in the Family would be good ones to see on a regular basis. They already play All in the Family sporadically but I never seem to catch it. That probably has something to do with the fact that I first need to turn the tv on and push away from the computer.

Definitely Medical Center...I named my oldest child after Chad Everett.

I loved my Ms. Beasley doll to tears and still miss her so. I am sure she would have helped dry my frustrated tears yesterday.

I acutally got to sit next to Fred McMurray at a dinner my Dad hosted one time. He was in town for a celebrity golf tournament that my Dad was hosting. He was a really neat person and not far off from the role he played on the show.

Home Improvement...I miss it desperately.

Captain Kangaroo

The Flying Nun

Not too old, but miss Gilmore Girls

Hazel

Northern Exposure

I'd love to see Carol Burnett again and St. Elsewhere. I get Golden Girls on Lifetime Channel here in the NY area and Home Improvement on TV Land.

Do 14 year old reruns of L&O count? I remember watching 'I Love Lucy' when we were kids. "Leave it to Beaver" was a favorite too. I don't see them on reruns.

I was okay with Raquel's ads until the, "See anything you like?" line. Nauseating.

To counterbalance that thought, how about:
Here Come the Brides
Gomer Pyle

Everything on your list cupcake. Plus Hazel and maybe Father knows Best! Carol Burnett would be good. That show was so funny. How about Wonderful World of Disney that used to be on every Sunday night?

I soooooooooo agree about that butt-hole Jason...the jerk...I ♥ Melissa! I loved Opie...that is hard to believe...a 28 year old...but then I have a hard time knowing three of my own are that age or older...hhmmmm...I loved Petticoat Junction and My Three Sons...although now I live that one! I couldn't get enough of Dark Shadows and the old cartoons were the best! The other one I loved was The McCoys...I so loved Grandpa!!! ohhhhh the good ole' days...

Are you red cowboy boots props for your new hobby?

As for the Bachelor, I've only watched the Deanna show and then, of course, Jason. My daughter and I didn't like Melissa from the start. We felt as though she was "on" for camera. I remember when she told Jason she was "the black sheep of the family" and then when her parents refused to be on the show...only signified our beliefs. I was always a Team Molly member.

Lost in Space
Scooby Do (1 hour...of course)
Dark Shadows (my all time fav)
Julia
Alf
The Men from U.N.C.L.E.

I'm with Snooty on bringing back Ally McBeal, I loved that show. I also agree with the Sonny and Cher show and That Girl!!

I know it's on re-runs all the time, but new episodes of Seinfeld would rock!

My Three Sons, Father Knows Best, Leave it to Beaver, American Bandstand live in Philly, Ben Casey, Dr. Kildare, Gidget, Family, thirtysomething, Homefront, relativity, I'll Fly Away, American Dreams. Every show I love goes away!

And I am right there with ya on The Bachelor. I was SO annoyed that I didn't even watch the final installment of that train wreck on Tuesday night. What on earth was ABC thinking. Plus, he looks like a weasel. DONE with The Bachelor. Boy, got all fired up about that!

Loved Carol Burnett, too.

And I see you already have Eddie's father. Very good. I think we should all hold hands now. And meditate.

Ok. I feel better now.
