A Big College Wahoo

The Baby Bird got into her first choice.
I am a proud Mama.
And a sighing Mama.
Next week, we expect Augie to be flexing his wings.

Congrats to your baby girl! My daughter graduated from UVa last year and loved every minute of her four years there. It's a great school! C'ville is a fun town to visit too. I highly recommend the Boar's Head Inn but make your reservations early!
Yay!

Yay! There's nothing to relieve your fears like college acceptance. Whew! Now on to Augie, who I have no doubts will get the school he wants as well.

Woo Hoooooo!

Congrats, Baby Bird! How thrilling! I remember what it was like to be heading off to college.

Good luck to Augie, too!

Oh way to go Bird! Well done. And I am sure Augie will be hearing from his first choice soon too.

You did good too Mama!

Oh congratulations. I know it is going to be a tough time for you, them both leaving at the same time and probably to different locations. But as you go to that next stage of life be so proud of what you and they have accomplished. Your job of being a momma is no where near finished. The BEST is yet to come. Or should I say it just keeps getting better and better. You are so blessed to be close to your kids while they are teenagers. Not everyone has that. And you are sure making good use of that camera!

Congratulations! You are the best mom, otherwise she would have to settle for her second choice.

Best of luck to Augie.

And then get ready to tighten your belt!

If it really is Virginia, that says volumes about your girl. WOW indeed :)

Baby steps, Friend. Little tiny baby steps...and remember to breath...and a martini now and then will help a lot.

Wonderful news! Congrats to the baby bird.

Oh, I am so excited for you and for her! This is great news.

If it's UVa, that's where my eldest son went. That's a tough school to get into!! Especially if you're out of state.
What an absolutely beautiful campus, though. I adored going down there to visit him. And for camping, it can't be beat with Shenandoah nearby.
Hey, if you need a good B&B, let me know. I stayed in a little cabin nearby that was awesome. Very rustic!

I am so excited for her! It's ALWAYS fun to get what you want...

Congratulations to Baby Bird on her first of many adult decisions! Our oldest is just completing her 2nd year of college and has recently caught a case of the sophomore itch---considering transferring schools, changing her major, etc. *Sigh* I find the itch more stressful than her leaving for college in the first place!

My, when those little pieces of paper arrive in the mailbox - it set my heart aflutter, for sure. Wonderful!

Me and Thomas are So very proud.

That good old song of
Wah-hoo-wah
We'll sing it o'er and o'er
It cheers our hearts and
warms our blood
To hear them shout and roar.
We come from Old Virginia,
Where all is bright and gay.
Let's all join hands and give a yell
For the dear old UVa
Wah-hoo-wah,
Wah-hoo-wah.
Uni-v, Virginia,
Hoo-rah-ray,
Hoo-rah-ray,
Ray! Ray! U-V-a

What fantastic news. Don't forget you have an alum and a crazy blogging friend just 3 hours away, although that may not be of any comfort.

She will have the time of her life, all the way around...academically, recreationally, athletically (if she's so inclined) socially and fraternitypartyly.

Wow, that is fantastic!! Congrats. To both of you :-)
