This-n-That Thursday

Wondering:
  • Should I get all involved in "True Blood?"  If so, I need to watch season one, like, yesterday.
  • Has anyone seen "The Hangover?"
  • Do you ever get excited by all the hype around a book, and then when you read it, wonder what all the fuss was about?
  • I feel that way about Suzy Welch's "10-10-10;" nothing much new there.  And the same goes for "The Secret."  Sorry, but a small child can teach you that message.
  • If I watch "True Blood" I will have to record "Army Wives," or vice versa?
  • Um.  Who is this Megan Fox?  She's beautiful, but what has she done?
  • If you get dressed for the gym in the morning, but don't get there all day, do you still get credit for the intention?
  • How many calories can you burn setting an intention to do something?
  • Anytime I see "stupid" or "wipeout" in a television show description or title, I check out. gah. You?
  • Isn't my life thrilling?
  • Don't answer that.  Thanks.

I don't know anything about most of what you are talking about. See? Whose life is more less thrilling?

All those titles and I haven't heard of any of them.

You are a very worldly woman, I am a hermit crab.

Never heard of it. Might be good though.

Yes, NSLO got me hooked on True Blood! Much better than Twilight.

Gym...gak.

At least you have a life!!!! Jealous here!

LIke Grandma J. I don't recognize any of those titles. So my recommendation is just move to Charlottesville.

(Don't try to make the connection between those two sentences, just focus on that last one.)

I look forward to this every week....thanks for the smile today. I would choose Army Wives to watch but that is just me.

All I can think about is you might move to VA...at least temporarily.

Put me in the category of the boring. Was lost with your post. So, why then, is my house still a mess and the laundry not done and not a single meal cooked - all that from someone who never was very domestic. What HAVE I been doing?

True Blood is most excellent, and you can catch up with HBO OnDemand, I think .. or run out and get the book, which BTW is both a quick fun read AND in paperback ... the whole of last season was the first book .. cross my heart!

Come in and lets go to High Line, take pix and then go have lunch

I've heard True Blood is amazing, but I've never seen it.

Just yesterday my son told me how much he wants to see The Hangover, but I haven't seen it.

Frequently I'm disappointed by a book that's supposed to be all that!

Megan Fox is in Transformers. You really should see those movies! The second one comes out in a couple weeks and I can't wait!

I don't go to the gym, but I have been exercising everyday, so I know not of what you speak!

i'm confused by most of those, but my son knows who Megan Fox is...surprise surprise!

OK, here's my response to your gibberish...

Start watching True Blood now, since you are dreaming and all about vampires...

Not sure if I want to see Hangover, until it comes to pay for view.

I know what you mean about books. You finish reading it and think..really? WTF! and that translates to What The Fudge!

Am thinking I should watch Army Wives? Is it good?

I don't know a smidgen about Megan Fox. Who is she???

Sometimes, I get dressed to work out, and that's where it ends! You are normal.

Summer TV is lame! Title of a blog from last year...and if I check out the Feed Jit, I got so hits from Islamic countries, it wasn't funny!

Whew, I feel as if I've writen a blog!

Now my brain will hurt all day long pondering these very deep thoughts.

That thing about the hyped book that's a no starter? Happens all too often.

I haven't read or seen True Blood, though I can't meaning to - the author is a M'ssippi girl.

Getting dressed in gym clothes absolutely should count for something.

my nieces and nephews saw hangover and said it was the funniest thing they had seen in years... a bit dirty inplaces but so worth it to them.

True Blood - gah, hate the whole vampire genre. I say stick with Army Wives.

The gym thing - I'd give you points for thinking about it. Of course, i need to get my butt to the pool for some laps.

Yes, to True Blood; and as Daryl pointed out you can catch up on OnDemand. You can also watch Army Wives and watch True Blood later in the week on OnDemand.

I also say yes to True Blood. The whole first season is only $35 (I bought it rather than pay $4 to rent each of the 8 DVDs)

But read the books too, first if you can.

Happy Thursday!

I would like to see true blood but don't have HBO.

Megan Fox's claim to fame is some transformer movie. So now she calls herself a sex symbol. *yawn*

Well, I have to say that since I've never even heard of True Blood or Megan Fox, your life MUST be more thrilling than mine... :)

I like "True Blood" EXCEPT the fact they have their fangs in the wrong spot. Who ever heard of vampire fangs right next to your front teeth? Puuhleeeesseeee. But I want Sookies powers.

Me? I switched to AT&T U-verse and can now record up to 5 programs at once. Then I can spend a rainy day sitting in front of the boob tube playing catch up without one iota of guilt.

timeforliquidxanax...care to join me?

'True Blood' is my new TV addiction. Now, at last, Mr. Snoots is watching it too... It's definitely a great show but then, I like 'Weeds' too. So you might not want to go by my recommendation, lol.

My son and his friend saw Hangover and said it was really hilarious. Of course, he is 17 so that may just be the age talking. But hey, you don't really expect some deep storyline for it, do you?

Are you my twin? You asked all my same questions. I confess, I love Wipeout. Gaaahhh.

Though I have seen only the first two episodes of True Blood I was hooked. I have since read 6-7 Sookie Stackhouse stories. Note to self: must rent season one. Love love Vampire Bill.

I don't get the Meghan Fox thing. Who gives a crap?

Intentions are good. They count more than calories, in my book. And they're not empty.

There's a book I had to read because everybody else was, but can't remember the name now. (I know as soon as I hit PUBLISH YOUR COMMMENT, it will come to me.) It was not as memorable as its literary reputation.

Just one last question. Do you secretly love Big Macs?

Fragrant Liar said...

I knew it! It was Franzen's The Corrections. Moments of brilliance from the author, but overpowered by the neverending sentences, forever long paragraphs, and meandering thoughts.

I don't know but I wish I looked like Meagan Fox...she is beautiful! And YES I think you should get credit for at least dressing for the gym....and that WIPEOUT show is crazy...I don't know how somebody hasn't been hurt badly....I like your life!

We might be strange, but my daughter comes over every Sunday night during True Blood season. She, my husband and I watch it faithfully (and that is after we all go to church on Sunday mornings). Don't ask me why because I don't read the genre, but we are hooked on the series! I love the music used as well, especially the theme song. --Audrey
