Sam Champion

A few days ago, I was feeling generous and energetic.
So I ventured into Augie's room to gather some laundry.
Five or six loads into the project,
I went into his bathroom to collect his towels.
Picture me, if you will, in that scary, dim place,
grasping all those towels,
and collecting even more discarded clothes...
when I saw something move.
Yup. Move.
Meet Sam Champion, the beta fish.
And, yes, that is Dora's dog shampoo in there.
That's where she gets her bathies.
But I'm happy to report that after his being outed,
Sam is happily ensconced on a nice desk.
I hope he likes Villanova.
However, I am very happy to report that these are gone.
I think we're making some progress.
Please tell me this is progress.

Sam might need some better digs, but how sweet that your boy didn't flush him.

Tis progress... My 33 year old son is home for the memorial service and I walked in the bedroom and clothes and wet towel were strewn all over the floor. Hmmm! Maybe a blog about it would wake him up. Har har! Old habits die hard. I once found a fish on the carpet in our family room. It had jumped out of the aquarium and I stepped on it in the dark. Oh I still shiver when I remember that squishy splat. Poor fishy. Headlines read "Big giant human woman killed little tiny fish".

I hope Villanova has clean water for Sam ;) What is it about boys that makes them think the floor (any floor) is a dirty clothes basket. I love it when clothes/towels are strung all over the room and then there's the complaint, ummmmm, I don't have any clean clothes... DUH!

I like Ellen's idea for the tires. A good swing when your feeling blue can bring a smile back to your soul...

Sam ~ certainly hope he gets clean water... boys! Men!, etc.

I am with Asthmagirl, new water is a must. Maybe he would like a nice plant to hang in!! I was hoping that with the titke :Sam Champion" you would have a glorious weather forcast for Friday! :)
Tires....well...at my house, my car has NEVER seen the garage as there are tires, antique cars and motorcycles in there. All the driveable cars and tires are outside!

Yes, everyone, Sam did, indeed, get some fresh water. And the tires actually found a new owner;)

MPM, you will miss the piles of laundry and the surprises you found in your son's room. I am speaking from experience. Can't even count how many times I walked into my children's rooms after they were off at college and just sat on their beds.
Honestly, I am a little sad the tires are gone.

...Oh yes, that is progress my friend...feels good doesn't it? ;o)

...And you can bet your eye teeth that Sam is breathing(?) a sigh of relief knowing that his lil' container is a safe distance away from a drain and/or toilet. Ya know, one false move and Sam would be on a one-way bargain basement ocean cruise if ya know what I mean...lol :o)

...Blessings MPM... :o)

Looks like progress to me. Out with the tires in with the fish. That seems like a move in the right direction, right?

I was goning to say, I can forecast your blog post for September 15th..."please come home and bring all your laundry!!!"...I'm just saying.

I will miss the tires too. I was gonna come up there with some white spray paint and make you a planter area. We could have brought "white trash" back. Oh well.

The tires are gone? Wow! That only took . . . a little while! Impressive!

Well I, for one, can say I miss not having my son around but I DO NOT miss his laundry. Not one bit.

Yes - that's progress.

Have we started laundry lessons yet?

Darn you messed up my road trip with Marlene to come paint those tires! I am happy for Sam. Still not a dog though.

I used to love when Charlie Gibson was on GMA and they'd cut to the weather (this was after Spencer Christian moved to SF) and Charlie would say in his smarmiest faux announcer voice: Here's Sam Champion

Yes, it's progress. Big time progress. Those tires would be standing as long as Stone Henge if they were at my house.

Oh what will his dorm room be like?

Big Hair Envy said...

Just wait until there are TWO boys living in ONE dorm room. GAH! **shivers** Your excuse to visit will be that you will NOT allow your son to live in such filth....so you MUST come up to clean!

The tires are gone? What ever are you going to write about?

I would definitely call that progress!

Omigosh! That Beta is not long for this world, lol. I apologize for laughing Augie! But really, I forsee demise in the Beta's near future. College girls can't take care of much more than themselves, but boys just don't take care of anything BUT themselves... Well, sometimes. Maybe.

You will NOT miss doing their laundry for at least three years... I promise. Because they'll bring it home with them for at LEAST 3 years.

Sweet! You're movin' on up, MPM.

How could he SEE that fish through that water? Lucky fish that you came along.
Six loads? Are you serious??

Poor Beta Fishy Sam. They are a hardy breed so I'm sure he will be around for quite a while.

Tires? How do you end up with tires? Do you change and rotate your own tires? Wow!

ABSOLUTELY...It is progress! I am always scared going to the boys room.....YOU ARE BRAVE!!!!!!

Yeah for you....I found the floor to the garage the other day. I hear tell we might even have walls. I will report back to you soon as they are truly discovered. So all in all, I think we can both honestly say....progress is being made.
