While Mommy's Away. A Give-Away!

Hi. Mom is gone to Italy.
And as soon as that door closed, I was like a rocket up the stairs.
Her office is a mess, but I know where she puts stuff.
This is my face where I pretend not to pay attention;
Where I am oh, so aloof:
But I don't miss a thing.
See:
And I am giving it away...
Just leave your comments telling me about your pets.
Or whatever.
Just leave comments.
Tell your friends and family to enter, too.
I will have my sister The Bird choose a random winner.
On Monday.
And by then I will have found another present to give away.
This is going to be a fun week.
Love, Dora

Well - there's Gus, my Alaskan Malamute. Jack, my black lab. Rylee, my chocolate lab and she's Jack's sister. Gus is very vocal with his wolf like howls and woo-wooing. He likes to talk too. Maw-maw-Maw. Jack is very quiet except when he is sad or wants to go for a walk. He makes this weird grunting noise. Rylee is also very quiet unless something is wrong - then she barks like crazy. So we are always alert to when she barks because something must be up. All three are very smart and well behaved.

Let's see, I have 2 bluebirds that nest in the yard faithfully. A small bunny, who I believe had a family, but the big heavy rains may have washed them away :( and zillions of butterflies I call "Mom".

I had a sweetie dog named Maggie, but she went to see my Mom in Heaven because she always gave her cheesburgers.

I love you Dora!

Oh jack and rose would love that to cheer them up .. they still have 3 weeks of treatment to go before no more pills, ointments or dips .. they should get the sympathy vote ....

Hi Dora! My little dogs Cletus and Earl would love to meet you! Maggie, the lab, would bark at you first..she's had a troubled past..so you have to forgive her. Then Wilbur, the elder cat, would give you a kiss! You wouldn't see the Princess, she is a shy kitty. Take care!

Oh, Dora, you are such a naughty, little dog! Your mama will get you when she gets home.

I used to have dogs, but they all decided to go to the pie in the sky, so now all I have are country cats. They multiply so fast, I can't put names to them. They all come to "Kitty"!

Well, there's the Brat Child's bunny he named Venom (he's black like the Spiderman villain). When BC discovered that Venom "ran away" at an early age, I had to go "find" him at a pet store an hour away. When I "found" him, Venom was a bit fuzzier, so I told BC he had grown a beard. Amazing how easily a four year old accepts the ability for a rabbit to grown a beard and travel 40 miles away.

After Cookie the crazy dog was rehomed, we had Ben the beautiful dog who got us sued, and now finally we have Pepper who does not glow in the dark but who is the sweetest lab mix ever!

Travel safely, MPM, and Dora? Thanks!

Dora, your Mama has met my dog Buddy. One time when she first arrived at the house she was greeted to my mother spraying my dog Buddy with Windex. Don't worry, it wasn't animal abuse or anything. She was trying to clean some, shall we say, "unpleasant after effects" from an unfortunate episode when Buddy must have eaten something that didn't agree with him.

Please tell your sister to pick me. I am so behind the times with i-anything.

Thanks for listening. Carry on.

I have a pet turtle, he's so big now bigger then my hand! I call him Squishy! If I don't clean him he gets really stinky.

Dora... this is Binky.. my mommy is sitting in the corner crying right now mumbling about beaches and school supplies and dog food. I am not sure what all these means but I am pretty sure she is sad, and an iPod would go a LONG way to cheering her up and she might would even use it to sing a song or two with my sister De... and if all else fails I can put the ear buddy things in MY ears to drown her out!!!!
Much love to you..
Binky

PS we type well for not having fingers don't we??

Wow, you get a lot more comments when you give something away! Sissy and Sammy are my little pals. Sammy likes to blog too, like you, Dora, so he writes every once in a while..usually complaining about Silly Sissy. Your mama is one lucky gal...traveling!

Hi Dora! What a sweet dog you are to care about all of us while your mama is jet setting around the world. My Sierra and Balto wolf dogs would howl at the site of an iPod Touch. I wont mention anything about that cat that lives here just in case you dont like cats being a sweet dog and all.

Hi Dora, when Mom calls in, please tell her to have a fantastic trip!
Zoei (blk female lab 8yrs)and Sammie (yellow Female lab 3 yrs) are our pets. Zoei gets my paper every morning and Sammie tries to escape out the door. She is a rescue and has very few manners, although she is getting better. They are our substitute children while NSLO is off to college.
Have fun while MPM is off galavanting.

A big hello all the way from England!
What a great idea Dora! I'm a follower and I hope I'll qualify for your giveaway despite
the distance.
I don't have any pets in my home since Samson, my beloved german shepherd passed away.
As I live by the river Thames my pets now are the many swans and ducks I visit and feed everyday.
Happy weekend!

Once my fairly good dog, Dedalus, peed on you. You were just a puppy - I hope you don't remember. He has gone to the great dog bone in the sky, and we miss him terribly. We don't have a pet right now but have a really great kid that could use an iPod touch. I know that she would love to give you some pets.

I win the prize for the naughtiest dog. Last night Stella ate a 3 lb. package of ground beef. That was 3 days past its edible date. So far it hasn't shown up again...

Dora, I am glad you asked!! I have 2 boys, both hounds. Max is our basset hound and he is "a lover and not a fighter". He likes belly rubs, food, sleeping, food, being petted, food, and walkies!!

Frankie runs the house, he is a 2 yr old mini doxie, he will be THREE next week and he loves everything. especially barking, walking, running, swimming in the pool and eating poop!

good luck with your contest, I hope your mommy has a great time on her trip!

Wow, I could sure use that gift!!!

Now let's see, I have Bucky, he's a laid back, chug, which is a chihuahua/pug mix. He's a good dog, And the man of the canine's here. To us he's cute, but we always tell him, he has a face, only a mother could love... LOL.. And yes we love him!!

Then there is Baby, a tiny mini dachshund. She's a long haired redhead. That dog has so much energy!! She has a bad habit of barking at everything!! Silly dog. She is David's princess. Those 2 are something else.

Last but not least is Bailey. She is a tiny mini dacshund also. She is a shorthair, dapple. She is my sweetheart. This has to be the sweetest dog alive. She loves to snuggle and be right with you. We have to be very careful with her as she has a bad back. Poor baby.

I sure hope your Mom is having a great time!! Don't give all her goodies away while she is gone!!!

Oh yeah, we also have 12 goldfish!!!

God Bless~

Hi Dora. So glad you took over. And wow I could so use that itouch. See my son who is 12...well he lost his. Well not lost his- more like he was on a sleep over and his friend DOG ATE IT. I know you would never do a thing like that. But what sweet justice would it be if he got a new one FROM A DOG. I think it would restore his faith in the canine community.

Hi Dora! I am a friend of your mom's. I have two pets - a big fat Golden Retriever named Mac who could probably eat you for breakfast, except that he's the most gentle, friendliest dog in the whole wide world - and a geriatric cat named Chuckie who is kind of in hospice, we think. It's like when you move Grandpa's bed downstairs because he can't get around like he used to.

Hi Dora-
What a great give away! I hope your mom is having a wonderful trip to Italy. It's a place I would love to visit one day. I have a silly mix breed (coonhound & collie) dog named Jessie. She is a great pal -- follows me around basically tripping me all day long. Hope you have a good weekend!

I have the Brute Squad, Maddie, Cassie and Fiona. I have left them with their auntie K2 while we do this road trip. If they had an ipod, they could call me! I miss them.

I also have Buddy Boy and Bad Girl, the twin black cats. I wonder why they are scared of the Brute Squad?

You only want a comment? I could write an entire book about my three cats and my beloved Heidi, the best beagle in the whole world (before there was Dora, of course).

Heidi lived to be 13 years old. I cannot believe it has been 5 years since she past. To this day, I cannot speak of her without crying my eyes out. Heidi was so my dog for if I was home, no other family member existed. Yet, she loved us all. She was the definition of loyal. Excuse me while I wipe a tear.

Onto the little rug rats we have now...Jack, Grace and Will! Don't think for a moment they were named after the comedy tv show, Will and Grace...Oh no! Let me explain.

When Jack was brought to us from a friend, I looked at this furry ball of grey and said...his name is Samuel L Jackson...Jack for short. He is very mild mannered and friendly to all visitors.

Then came little Miss Grace. She was abandoned early in her life when her mommy was hit by a car. My daughter sought out as many of the kittens she could find and made me take this little tuxedo cat. Because she reminded me of elegance...in a Grace Kelly way, she became Miss Grace Kitty!

At last, the last tuxedo kitty joined our homestead on cold December night. I say these little eye balls staring into the kitchen from our deck. Once I opened the door, he came in as if he owned the place and he stayed ever since. He has this affinity to sleep next to some William Shakespeare books of mine, thus, his name became Will for short!

And that is the story of my most favorite pets...Dora, I hope you can relate!

Your dog is so cute - great pictures! Well, my dog's name is Joey. He's a 2 year old Golden Retriever and he really couldn't be a sweeter or more loving companion. Right now, he's lying on the floor next to my chair, snoozing. One funny thing about Joey is that he loves to pose for pictures. I featured him in my blog last week, and when he realized we were going to take a picture of him he got so excited he did zoomies around the back yard for five minutes first, stopping to spin in place a few times. And he actually poses, too, like a model. Dogs are great!

Dora you are an adorable person. I bet your sister The Bird loves you to pieces. But don't be too bad while Mommy's a way.

Karen Deborah said...

oh wow your something! How about a kitty that pets back? Puffins does. He likes to share a pillow face to face and give a little kiss. Then he rubs my hand or arm with his little paw. Now the big poodle puppy? he has a very big bark to grow into and almost everything he does is cute. Well digging holes is not cute and peeing in the house wasn't cute---notice the past tense?

Dora you hold down the doggy blog while mom is stuffing herself with fabulous food and washing it down with delicious wine. While your at it indulging in decadence rub olive oil all over.....you finish that thought.

I'm not home enough to have a pet and give them the attention they deserve right now, but my dust bunnies are THRIVING. I'm a good mama. ;-)

Sadly my inn's license forbids me from having pets (although I have been owned by some mighty amazing dogs in my past.) I do have eight bird feeders though and a small fish pond so I guess I could count them as pets. Some of the birds are such regulars that they have names: Mr. and Mrs. Robort Downy Woodpecker and Mr. and Mrs. Albert and Victoria Cardinal are my favorites. I never named my fish as they all started as tiny 5 cent feeder goldfish and I didn't expect them to survive. Three years later they are over six inches long and having kids of their own. Does that make me a grandmother?

Here in the Shooter Household live Olliver the BDP (brain dead pug), Scooter Booter (gives new meaning to the word clueless), and two hedgehogs ~ Sugar (cuz she's so dang sweet) & Pippy (I have no clue why). They all could use an iTouch bc they most definitely need to get in touch with something.
Thanks for the fabulous opportunity!

What a fantastic gift!
We have a 12 year old chocolate lab named Libby. Yesterday, we were at our next door neighbors tailgate party. The party was in full swing and everyone was having a great time. Upon my surprise, Libby showed up at the party and managed to get some grilled sausage and some other goodies. When I tried to bring her home, she sat down and refused to move. We did not know how much of a "party animal" she really is. Dora, I think you would have fit right in.
Have a great Labor Day Weekend!

I loved my BelleGirl! My then 5 year old son named her for Beauty and the Beast. I told my husband she would never, ever get on the couch. That was the story until Belle met us at the door with the couch afghan tangled in her collar. I miss her.
