This-n-That Thursday

Observations from my new abode:
  • This condo is about half the size of our house.
  • We weren't sure we were doing the right thing when we put our house on the market. I am happy now.
  • I feel like I'm on vacation. A vacation where I am carrying stuff around all the time.
  • My back hurts.
  • The biggest change is for Dora. Dora is our dog who thinks she's a human.
  • Now that we have no yard, Dora has to be walked many, many times a day.
  • I think I've lost 5 pounds since Monday. This is good news.
  • I wonder if I'll miss all my stuff we put in storage. I'm betting on "no."
  • Today I am going to finesse The Bird and Augie's rooms.
  • My Blisters sent us the most beautiful basket of flowers as a housewarming. There is even a bird's nest in it;)
  • Our deck overlooks the pool here. The Gladys Kravitz in me takes much pleasure in this.
  • The neighbors are all quite friendly. Squazz is a little leery of a couple--I find it amusing and am hopeful it will give me something to blog about. How sick is that?
  • When something doesn't work, the concierge comes and takes care of it. Same with burned out light bulbs.
  • Have I mentioned I feel like I'm on vacation?

Just think, no yard work!

I want to move into a condo. I want to get rid of all my junk! I want to move to Omaha!

I want, I want, I want....do I sound like a 3 year old?

I'm sure you'll love your new home.

Someone changes your light bulbs? You are on vacation! I am glad you like your new space. Change is good.

A concierge??? Not only are you on vacation, you are vacationing in a luxury hotel!

Wow! It sounds wonderful - well, all except the sore back!

That does sound all vacation-ey. My favorite part is about your being Gladys Kravitz and the bloggy goodness that will come from that.

Very cute posting. Glad Dora has settled in. May the vacation feeling never end! Also think of how tone your legs will be from doing the stairs with Dora...many, many times a day.

You are living my dream. No yard work. No do-it-yourself home repair. I am dreading all the mowing I will be doing this summer. Condo life is looking pretty good to me right about now.

Does the concierge kill spiders, too? If so, I'm moving in.

I can't wait to read about your neighbors and your view from your window version of the babes by the pool...maybe Shauna Sands and her lucite heels will pop up....I loved Gladys on Bewitched.....looking forward to all of it....and WOW people who do your yard and light bulbs too....enjoy it!!!!!! I will admit to feeling a little bit jealous....hahahaha.....change is good for the soul or at least that is what I keep telling my fam...they aren't diggin' it!!!!

WOW! your condo Association does more than ours.....but that's fine, I love the landscaping guys, and the pool guys, and the repair men.....(just looking) But the best thing you said was that you'll be our Gladys Kravitz, can't wait for the stories...smiles.

I'm on my way now, Gladys. Tell the Concierge not to deny access to a frizzy-haired crazy woman.

I'm glad the place where I found a roommate has a yard since he has a Bernese Mountain Dog that I feel like I'm torturing if I don't let him out once an hour when I'm home. That would really kill productivity if I had to go walk him once an hour!

I hope you enjoy the vacation feeling longer than you should because it sounds like it makes you very happy...and happy is good. :)

Now if only you could get a massage on that vacation!

OMG! Gladys, I knew we were soul sisters from the start & you just proved it.

I knew you'd sold your house, I just didn't know you were moving so soon. Obviously, you weren't in residence there for 24 years, right? Right? Please tell me I'm right so I don't feel like a total slacker. We might be ready to sell by 2011, if I can get hubby to agree to more $1100.00 faucets and new windows...

This is the most cheerful "just moved" post I've ever read. Hopeful. Good for you!

Jealous. I want to do this. I think you both are going to love it. I just hope the ducks come visit you at your pool :)

I had no idea...I thought you were going on vacation. And I guess maybe that's exactly what you did. FOREVER!

Dora must be in 7 heaven. If I ever get JJ for my very own, I'll be walking him a zillion times a day and putting him in Doggie Daycare occasionally.

Happy Condo living!! :))
