So Moved...

Just a minor quandary: what to do with the extra electronics.
Our first major step in downsizing is complete.
We have hopefully sold our house.
More than half of our possessions are in storage,
And Squazz, Dora, Cupid and I have landed in our condo.
So far, so good.
We await the arrival of The Bird and Augie next month.
They will dump their crap settle into their new rooms,
Which I have arranged with loving care.
And then they will be off to their peeps.
And Squazz, Dora, Cupid and I will still be there.
In our cozy, cute new place.
So far, so good.

What a smart woman you are to downsize so efficiently. Isn't it amazing how quickly electronics accumulate?

I am glad you are feeling settled already. Hope that Dora is getting settled too. If you are looking to shed any of the electronics (TVs etc), let me know.

How's my Dora doing??

Where did my comment go?? (I was asking about my Dora's mental health.)

You can sell the electronics on Ebay, and then buy new stuff for your new place. Err...wait...that negates the purpose of downsizing, doesn't it? Oh well...you can still sell the electronics on Ebay, and use the earnings on family outings!!

I wish you were closer I would take and buy some of your extra and help you get it out of the bathroom.....I am so glad that it has gone so smoothly for you and that it's cute.....that is what matters after all.......cheers to you and your new happy CUTE home!!!!

You can always put a computer or TV in the loo .. or donate them through the church ...

How is Dora doing, I am betting this move was not easy for her ...

If you need any help settling in, I am a ZipCar ride away!

Bathroom floor seems like the perfect spot for them;)

Congrats on the move. Without killing anyone - major accomplishment! I do question the electronics in the bathroom though - too much water!

I *heart* downsizing.

I think the bathroom is a perfect place for the computer and such. Just think, no time lost from blogging :-)

Glad you're getting settled, can't wait to see the pictures of your new downsized life!

I have to be the only one here who didn't realize it was the bathroom--I was too distracted by the electronics (I <3 gadgets and technology).

I like Daryl's idea of donating through your church. If you're looking to sell them to get money towards something you need/want for your new home though, I would recommend Craigslist. No selling fees like Ebay and generally a good experience. I bought the Ikea computer desk ($15, regularly $25 at the store) and a random computer chair ($10, regularly $60+ at the store), both which I'm using this very instant, off of Craigslist.

Well, obviously I've had my head in the sand a long time. Didn't realize you were moving. Congratulations! Here's to simplicity. If only I were you.

Good luck...get a glass of wine and put your feet up now!

Hopefully the worst is behind you now, and the wine glass has been thrown back to your head a few times.

Some places do recycling for electronics...or you could always ask the local schools, churches, thrift stores, if there is a need. This is coming from the person who is using a computer that should have been recycled back in Thomas Edison's prime.

Wow.. you work fast.

There is always at least one thing left after the movers have done their thing. One time it was a bottle of ketchup (I had just opened it - I wasn't going to throw it away...) The last time it was a bottle of un-wine. You know - without the alcohol? Something we had bought for a friend that doesn't drink. Even the movers wouldn't take it.

It looks like your problem is electronics. Recycling?
