I love gardens.
All kinds of gardens.
I really loved my gardens.
I spent many hours out there.
Many hours.
And I hope the new people treat my plants well.
And now that we are all settled in here at The Complex? All my tools and containers are tucked away in storage. Well, almost all. I saved two big pots--they will be my garden this year. And tomorrow I am going to toil there. It should take about an hour. Then I am going to shower and head out to enjoy the day. And I might just have a mint julep. Or two.
What are you doing this weekend?

I have never quite enjoyed gardening here as much as I did at the old house. When this house caught fire when we moved in, we missed the opportunity to retrieve much of our landscaping from the old house. Much of it was stolen, including all our landscaping bricks, my prize roses and lilies and the blueberry plants I had raised from sticks.
Enjoy your mint julips, Mama! K3 will be watching from her couch!
I have 6 hours entirely to myself. I suspect they will be spent grading papers. Is that exciting or what?
I shall miss your gardens too! Always so pretty.
If its nice on Sunday I plan on walking over to the GreenMarket/Flea Market and getting some baby plants to plant in the window box ... its time.......aside from that we have the love seat delivery (exact time still TBD) and a visit to the vet for Miss Rose who isnt feeling quite herself .. and of course beautification™
I will be studying, but in between I hope to have some fun with friends and get outdoors in my garden for a while too. Oh, yeah, turkey dinner Sunday.
(Thanks for stopping by my blog)
Going to a Kentucky Derby party tomorrow afternoon. Other than that, I hope a whole lot of nothing.
Damn. Wish I'd come over there with a shovel before you moved out.
Really? Just 2 pots? humm if you get creative I am sure you can come up with more. An herb planter in the kitchen... pots across the balcony if you have one. I need to see this place. I'll find you more room than 2 pots. You have got spring fever.
I WANT A GARDEN! (Stamp foot.) At least as beautiful as yours...well one can dream.
Mary
Farmer's Market, Wine Tasting, and walking in Olde Towne this evening...tomorrow Race in Richmond....Sunday...Collapsing, although I am in better shape this time, in case we get lost. Wait, I'm not going with Phil, so I won't get lost.
Just two pots? In California, one can have at least 6.
I'm thinking I might sleep tomorrow. 100% chance of rain so yeah, perfect for sleep:)
Gorgeous flowers.
I'll be applying makeup to a man and hosting bloggers which both basically mean I'll be drinking lots of wine.
Wish you could be here!
Your world is so lush and beautiful! Happy weekend.
It sounds like you miss your garden.
I will spend the weekend playing around with my new computer inbetween boring jobs.
I swear I will never miss my garden if I ever get the opportunity!
Mr. Snoots and I will be playing golf in the morning, then sipping martinis at post time.
Sometimes life is just so hard... ;-) Take for instance Sunday. I'll be repotting new and old plants for the patio and front entry. Labor of love.
and you so should COME TO MY HOUSE!!!!!!!! I planted ummm the seeds for 42 plants today... I am ONLY a month or so behind... :D they should be awesome!
Container gardening is quite the "in" thing currently so you are right with the trend. I can't wait to see what you can do with two pots!
When we had the house, I did garden quite a bit. But alas, I simply contracted one thing or another. First, the worse case of poison oak you ever saw, second, my feet were bitten by the nasty red ants and swelled up like watermelons...lastly, I always managed to get stung by a swarm of bees... Oh wait, I forgot about the time I had a fresh pedicure and walked in the dirt bare footed and had the worse infection on my feet. Then my husband forbade me from gardening.
Now I garden in my containers...it's lovely!
Be sure to plant some mint for the mint juleps and mojitios!
I remember when I moved into my house in Santa Barbara the former owner cried as she went through each plant explaining to me how to care for them. I tried my best.
And I shall forever miss the "ducks in the pond"...sigh.
You did have a beautiful yard and I know you'll enjoy doing new things too!
I didn't do much yesterday...cleaned off the deck and one day will maybe by some plants! Have a great weekend sweetie!
Your flowers were lovely and no doubt so will your "pot garden" ;)
Now you've got me wondering how to make a mint julep. Off to Google...
Pretty pictures....love them!
Well, you already know what I did over the weekend! Can't wait to see photos of your new "garden"! I'm sure it will be beautiful:)
You know what I did too! Enjoy your new garden. I have plenty of dirt here if you ever need to dig!
<><
Isn't it hard to leave the things you loved......I know they are just things...but I think about it and it rips my heart.......your home was lovely even if I only saw pic's it was lovely nonetheless.....I hope your two pots full of gardenish things will bloom where they are planted for you now and bring much joy.....
Your gardens really were/are the best. You should come to my house and make some for me. I'll be crocheting on the lawn swings.
