It was a long Winter...
So we opened the pool a little early this year.
An hour later?
It was sleeting.
But this morning?
Yeah, baby!
The Mental P Mallards are back!
Not even 24 hours after the cover came off!
Do you think he's cleaning?
She is clearly in a supervisory role.
House hunting?
Do we dare let them?

How funny that they landed so fast in the pool. They are just so cute though. Let them build a nest close and we can watch babies later on.
Yes...they need to have some mental babies...it will help with the college bound transition.
I want to come and be at your pool all summer!
Well, I know where I will be spending my summer!!
That is one gorgeous pool! I love the tile work. The ducks however...
That is too funny .. you are certainly optimistic ...
Wish I could sit by your pool and watch the ducks. Amazing....D
I'm so glad your babies have come home to roost...or swim! Great way to start the season!
You know they're going to lay eggs again! Do you really want to fish eggs out of the bottom of the pool again? You need to borrow Stella!
So I wasn't imagining what I saw coming down from the sky yesterday. Sleet - 1. Mallards - 0.
Oh my! Ducks like chlorinated pools? Who knew?
How Precious!
I would love to have a couple of mallards visiting for the summer.
We have ducks next door...but thankfully that's where they stay
BIG Ducks!
Cunfucius say...
...You keep duck in pool,
they make moo shu poop!
I'm just sayin'
YAY! Let them stay! Let them stay!
It would be adorable to see little baby ducks swimming in the pool but . . . would they let you swim there too?
Oh you are brave - we're not opening until next month. Of course, you have your "cabana boy" still at home - mine, not for a few weeks.
As far as those ducks, they are mighty good eatin' with a little a l'orange sauce on them. We can have wild game night with the damn groundhog who thinks our pool cover is a bridge.
How exciting that they came back...a sign of Spring. Must agree with Jules...two ducks, lots of poop in the pool and in the back yard and around the pool...etc.
Welcome home duckies!
Sometimes you gotta scoop the poop to enjoy the treasure!
Sure. Let them stay. :)
Sleet. How lovely. So over winter... Hm, not sure about all the duck poop around the pool though...
Oh this is going to be a wonderful Novella to follow. Just like a real live reality show!
Those are MY ducks, sweetheart! I shooed them off my pool cover last week. I should have known they would find something better...
They were just waiting for that cover to come off just like my hummingbirds were swarming Sunday to say "hey nectur plez"! I was going to plant flowers yesterday and then they called for hail storms! Dont you love it!
Wow they didn't let any grass grow under their feet...did they? Here in Mesa, Az...we are approaching the surface of the sun again...102 today...they would be roast duck here...=0(
Oh geesh.. that's cute. Chlorine can't be good for those oiled feathers though.. can it?
I love them but when I think of duck poop in the pool it nakes me gag a bit.
Wow! They must really like your surroundings. Don't they make a mess?!?
OMG! Now I have Open Pool Envy!
Ducks In The Pool Envy? Not so much. GAH!!!
We have been debating when to open ours....it's supposed to be 84 degrees Saturday, and I KNOW I will wish ours was up and running! I think we will err on the side of caution, and wait another two or three weeks :(
May I come over to your place Saturday?
I think they were just hiding and waiting for the pool people to open up!
Yes, I agree that baby ducklings are just what a human empty nester needs. I used to have a pair of mallards who lived in our yard, and they'd eat right out of your hands, very nice ducks.
Geese on the other hand, are from the devil.
So, the pool is open? And we have a hot weekend ahead? I'm on my way.
Awwww.... I love quackers. I always loved seeing them in Spring at the lake house, with their little goslings all in a row. Hope their presence made the sleet easier to bear!
What a sight for sore eyes! Oh this just made my day. I love me some ducks! Especially Mama's!
They were waiting you know - what took so long anyway? ;)
Oh that is awesome. First you get sleet and then ducks. It put a smile on my face!!!
Mmmm Malard Eggs! Wonder what they taste like!
XO
Meg
cute...but who cleans up the poop??? lol!
How cute! Those ducks are like children--jump right into a pool no matter the weather.
I love the tile around the pool...
They were just waiting for you to open for business.
They were just waiting for you to open for business.
Jealous. ;-)
I can't believe those ducks. Don't they worry about the chlorine bum burn?
it's like the sopranos...
We've had two ducks hanging around our front yard, but they don't dare venture into the back because of the dogs.
Just so you know, I have major pool envy right now.
