This-n-That Thursday

A whole bag of nothin'
  • Thank you all for your well wishes.  I feel so much better!
  • I hate to throw up. However, I think it worked my abs a little bit.  Sorry for the TMI.
  • I love ginger ale and ginger tea.  This is a good thing.
  • The same goes with saltine crackers.
  • Just finishing Mrs. Lincoln: A Life by Catherine Clinton; I think Mary has been unfairly judged by most.  Great book.
  • The ducks were here this morning.
  • We have two big coyotes in the neighborhood. One of them was in our yard two nights ago. This is not a good thing.  Especially if you are a duck looking to nest.
  • I think the ships in the Indian Ocean should hire armed guards.  The pirate issue will go away.
  • I cannot wait to see that Disney movie Earth.
  • I have had to unfriend some folks on Facebook who do nothing but sit and take those quizzes all day.  Um, I don't care what your mafia name is...sorry.  I wonder if they'll notice.
  • On the other hand, Twitter is still my pet.  Go figure.
  • Today is William Shakespeare's 445th birthday.  Do you think the works were his alone, or a group of writers'?  I think they were his alone.  And I have a crush on him.
  • The forecast high for Sunday in NYC is 88.  The Mental P Preferred Temperature is 70-75.   Why did I sign up for that half marathon?

I like your TTT's. Does it take a long time to think them up?

I'm glad you are feeling better. I've missed the sicknesses this year, and I am even with 1st graders on Thursday mornings. Thank you, Lord!

TWO coyotes?? They're back! Damn.

You go, girl! Just don't melt!!

I think the pirate thing is a little more complicated.

I had to unfollow someone on twitter that posted every two seconds, so I get the face book thing.

Have the ducks laid eggs yet?

I'm so glad you feel better!

I also think he did it on his own.

I'm glad you are better. With awesome abs.

You are totally crazy in an awesome way for that half-marathon. When is it going to be? I wanna make sure I'm curled up on the couch and thinking about ya while I drink my wine that day! Bwahaha! ;o)

Just kidding, I wish I was in the shape to be able to DO one!

I am anxiously waiting to hear of your marathon success as you are my inspiration for later this year.

Would you like to run in the OBX marathon with me in November? I offer great accommodations and they are free! Maybe a girls weekend is in order - TS Annie, Ellen, Jules and/or whoever else.

So glad that you are feeling better. Being sick is just not fun at all!

Uh-Oh! Coyotes spell trouble for nesting ducks. Eeks! It is hard to watch nature sometimes, isn't it?

Oh - I think Will wrote everything himself. Of course, Will might have been a "stage name" but . .. they are all his!

Glad you're feeling better. Ginger ale + saltine crackers = can't be beat for an upset stomach.

Coyotes are scary.

I think the pirate thing is complicated. I wouldn't want to work on a ship. Those are brave people.

I bet you'll have a great time in NYC, half marathon and all.

During our days at the lake, something always seemed to make the baby goslings disappear. Now I'm thinking it was coyotes. Makes sense to me.

I've had a crush on William since Middle School.

Doesn't ginger ale with saltines remind you of being taken care of by your mom? Thank goodness those stomach bugs never last for long!

Sorry, but, did Nurse Nancy mention OBX in November????

Want me to send Cool Breeze up to "take care" of those coyotes? His Mafia name is Smooth Tony Gambino;)

So glad you're feeling better, there is nothing worse than throwing up except that horrible lead-up to throwing up where you try not to but then know you'll feel better if you just do it, etc. etc. speaking of TMI....

What about the whole notion that Shakespeare was a woman? I'd never heard the one about him being a group of people, fascinating.

Good luck in your marathon and please tell us how it goes. The fact that you're doing it is very inspirational.

I'm exhausted just reading/thinking about it, but you'll do fine no doubt.

So glad you are feeling better.
Little T and I are looking forward to the Earth movie too. Pirates make good shark bait. Shakespeare...didnt he write the "Diary of a Whimpy Kid" books?
I'll be raising a sold Corona w/lime for you on Sunday!

Good Golly! Another Shakespeare fan - are we twins :) ?

My favorite Shakespeare quote (and I use it often with my husband):

"I am not bound to please thee with my answers."

He doesn't get it.

Glad you're feeling better.

So happy you are feeling better...

I will be checking my FB to see if you deleted me.

Coyotes? Scary...poor duckies.

I can not wait till this weekend for the awesome weather.

Good luck on your 1/2 marathon! You will be concentrating so hard on your performance, you won't notice the 5 degree difference!

I agree about the armed guards for heavens sake. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure that out! (That totally wasn't a bust on you...it was a bust on the government, although I did hear there are issues with weapons in international waters. Well, duh...the pirates don't seem to mind the rules!)

Glad you are feeling better and your abs are tighter.

Oh, and I do like Nurse Nancy's offer. I won't do the running thing - two knee surgeries and the threat of a replacement are enough to make me shy away from that kind of running - but I'll be happy to cook the carbs and cheer you on!

Ellen said...

By the way, could I borrow one of those coyotes to take care of my pesky groundhog?

Glad you're feeling better! And you can do it in New York. If that's just the HIGH the half marathon will be run in the morning, right? It won't be that hot yet. Good luck!

Okay I laughed out loud at the mafia thing.

Glad you are not feeling better, hope in your misery you lost at least 5 pounds.

I'm with you on the FB quizzes. Annoying.

I'm gonna look you up on Twitter. Our hidden agenda for Virginia Blogfest must include getting Chesapeake Bay Woman on Twitter. Because, you know, all the cool kids are doin' it...

88? Here I was proud we are hitting 80!

My grandma always boasted a shot of whisky will cure any ailment. Physical or mental. She MAY be onto something.

I can't wait to see that movie, either! And my preferred temperature zone is the same as yours. Um, so good luck on Sunday. Maybe it won't be so warm.

Glad you are feeling better.

We have coyotes in our neighborhood too. I get scared for our cat!

Better you than me running the half marathon! I'm in awe of anyone who can run that far on purpose!

Debbie said...

I've given up on Twitter. You're the only one who notices me LOL. I hope the ducks stay safe and glad you are feeling better :)

When is this half marathon any way?

Shakespeare worked alone; he told me so himself.

Glad you are all better--though it's now Tuesday and I'm just reading Thursday, I'm still glad.
