Day 36

Are you kidding me?
You can get a live feed of this disaster and you cannot stop it?
36 Days.
Ruining my favorite body of water on the planet.
Murdering the wildlife.
Destroying the lives of countless families who make a living on that water.
Are you kidding me?
Somebody?

Every single time there's an issue like this and there is NO proven plan, I am amazed. And despite what Washington says, BP will never make things right financially.

Here's an random detour in thinking about being ready for disasters: there is a poster on the wall in the room where I'm teaching this summer. It tells all about how to respond to a hostile intruder. 1) cover the window in the door 2)lock the door. FYI: there is no shade to cover the window NOR is there a lock on the door. I guess I wonder if we can ever really have enough plans for a disaster??

Truly disgraceful.

I was saying to my husband about five minutes ago, that I just don't understand when that is their business, to drill for oil out in the ocean, then you have to have, you HAVE to have a plan for when that kind of disaster happens. 36 days later and now they are going to try blah blah blah, hopefully tomorrow. I just don't get it. There should have not only been a Plan A, but Plan B and C as well. too late now!

I just don't understand how they can construct these things and not have multiple safety devices built in for just such a problem. I mean - come on - plan ahead, people!

Is this live feed about the shock and awe of it or what? I'm with you- you can do this and not fix it? How do they get permission to drill for oil with NO plan for stopping a leak???

This whole thing is so sickening. Tammy said if her hubby can't plug the well that it's going to be even worse. This is one of the deepest wells ever drilled (not good news). If this next step doesn't succeed then we're all screwed.

Someone needs to take the boys @ BP out back and give them the whipping of their lives. For at least a year. Every. Day.

All other companies doing off shore drilling DO have safety measures in place. BP just isn't one of them.

Don't get me started.

I heard on the news the other day that so far, the money BP has paid out to make this right (as if) has been the equivalent of seven days' worth of profit for them.

News said BP leased the well... Who owns it? Do they have responsiblity also? Just a thought since BP doesn't know what to do...

Horrifying.

I am so very disgusted to think that the once pristine Gulf of Mexico is now nothing more than a vessel of oil sludge.

What kills me is to hear how FoxNews is screaming for White House involvement, however if the that party was sitting on Pennsylvania Avenue, Fox would have such a different story to tell, spouting that big government does not work as well as independent business.

I guess in this case...I wonder what the government would do differently?

And the damn hole is still not plugged. Making me sick as well.

Maybe in the future, mandatory to dig relief well in case of disaster.
