Yeah, Baby

The More Magazine Marathon and Half Marathon.
NYC, Central Park, April 26, 2009:
It was amazing.
It was HOT.
It was so hot, they cancelled the marathon.
Everyone ran the half marathon instead.
(Because it is so easy?)
The whole event (13.1 miles) ran un-timed.
That was just fine with me;)
And the other 9,999 of us gathered there....
HOT
Did I say that yet?
Home!  Flowers from my family;)
My Birdy and my Augie...
A love note from Squazz:
Mama and her medal.
An awesome day.
And from the very bottom of my heart,
I thank every last one of you for the well wishes.

To complete any sort of race is a major accomplishment, but to complete a 13-miler is absolutely incredible. Way to go!

Shazam! You should be proud, is this your first? 1/2 marathon is awesome.
I only did 10k's. I trained once for a marathon, I ran the 13 miles, I blew out my knee. I quit.
It was hot... oh yeah, the east coast heat is something else. Again, congrats. Rest up.

I just was talking to my next door neighbor Dane's brother and they just got back from running the marathon in Tennessee this weekend...Dane and Blaine finished the full marathon...bless their hearts...they have come so far!!!! But............they said one person passed away on the half part of it...that is so sad...so I am glad you did so well!!!! Plus I have missed you the last couple days...hope you are doing good...

CONGRATS!!! You kicked that half marathons butt!

Too bad they cancelled the full marathon. I bet there were some dissappointed runners.

So I the way in from the airport on Sunday morning (flight LANDED at 8:30 a.m.) the Triboro was having issues so we took the 59th St Bridge (but we put it back so not to worry) and ended up crossing to the Westside under the 66th St overpass and I could see lots o'womans jogging .. I wish I had known THAT was the marathon you were doing and that it had been cancelled, I would have met you and been your water person ..

Major congrats on even having the chutzpah to enter .. and even bigger props for doing it!

xoxo

I tried running ONCE. Some man then started running after me because he thought I was running away from something and wondered if I needed help. That was that for me. No more running. I guess I look too serious when I do it.

A big congrats to you on running a half MARATHON. Gawd. I am very, very impressed. :-)
