The Bird's Senior Prom

The annual Humoring-Mama-Pose.
Do you think it would kill him to smile?
Atta boy.
He reminds me more and more of his father....
But just between us, doesn't he look like that Chuckie doll?
Pretty, patient, pink and priceless.
Belles.
Words fail me.
A couple of Beaux?
I'm with Dora.

I love the pictures behind your children, it sort of brings it all together. I mean if those are paintings of your children.

They all look so cute and happy. You cried, didn't you....yes you did. It's ok, hug the dog.

Yay -- no powder blue tux! And they are beautiful kids, for sure. That doggy wasn't sneering, she was BAWLING HER EYES OUT.

Another eight years or so, and I'm right there with Doggy . . .

You know, Grandma J is a lot more observant than me...I didn't even notice the pictures behind the kids. I went back and looked, and they are lovely!

After the prom, the kids disappear! Of course, they do come home once in a while!

The cards in the mail!

Dora somehow appears to be unapproving, lol. She'll get over it. But, will you ever get over their very last prom? It makes me want to shed tears & sniffle for you. Been there. Done that. Miss it all.

Love the dress she picked out and Augie makes me smile. He has got the best sense of humor. And those cheeks! I just want to pinch them.

I hope they all had a wonderful time...what memories.

Oh, I am all verklempt! I have missed you so much, Mama...and the kids! So beautiful and handsome in their Prom finery...

But Dora...awww, I could handle it all until I came to the pic of Dora. That sent me right over the edge into extreme verklemptness. She is so darn cute I just can't stand it. Plus she WILL NOT go away to college, thankfully. :)

Your prom is really early, isn't it?! I love all of these. It's bittersweet, isn't it? And it lives forever in your photographs.
