Paging Dr. Freud

I have dream issues.  Well, they really aren't issues, because they are almost as predictable as the tides.

First, there are the airplane dreams.  I have those when I am feeling tied down and anxious.  I am always on a plane that cannot gain any altitude.  I'm not scared, we just skim along, turning sideways between buildings and flying under bridges.  Then we finally get wherever it was we were going.  Sometimes I am even the pilot.  And there have been a few flights where I have sat out on the wings.  I may need some help analyzing those.

Then there are the dreams with my mother.  She has been gone almost seven years, but we have many long talks in my dreams.  A lot of times we are shopping together.  Sometimes we are cooking.  But I alawys wake up feeling a little bit of support and validation.  I love these dreams.

This brings me to my dream last week.  I was on a business trip.  And I had to stay in a variety of rooms which made me very anxious because I couldn't keep up with my computer, phone, chargers, you know, all that stuff...  And when I returned, I returned to my former in-laws' house with a very sick child.  I had to carry him everywhere, I have no ides who he was, but I could hardly walk with this load.

After I got this strange kid to bed, I visited with all my former family (my ex-husband was one of 9 children) then I went out for a walk.  I stumbled into some sort of a cult meeting of these surfer dude type guys.  They kidnapped me, took a snip of my hair, made me kiss them all, and I had to wear wet boxer shorts that were inside out.

Send help.  I am obviously a mess. Any other weird dreams out there?

The sick child you had to carry was you. I'm not sure why he's a boy but....
You've got some interesting dreams for sure.

I think these could be a blockbuster movie. I, too, love dreaming about and talking with a loved who has passed on.

Now about kissing the surfers ...

You sound almost like Sanatha's Aunt Agatha or what ever her name was on Bewitched...flying on the wings of planes...

dreams are so fascinating and so wierd at the same time...I ♥ the dreams I have of my dad who has been gone 11 years..those ARE nice...I do agree the last one could be a movie by today's standards.

Wow, weird dreams. I hardly ever remember mine by morning...

Problem solved....look at your posting right below this one!!! You had a little tooooo much to drink....it's ok, it should wear off in a couple days.

I love reading about your dreams, you just crack me up and if we really wanted to analyze you, it would be a lot of fun !!!!

Have you all decided on a college yet? OU ( Go Sooners) is still accepting applications!

I have weird dreams all the time, often invovling school, high school or college. It's the end of the semester and I realized I never officially dropped a biology class (it's always biology) and am going to get an F because I cut out.

Or it's the first day at a new high school and I'm having trouble finding homeroom.

I would much rather be dreaming about surfer dudes than bX codes!

Maybe it's your inner surfer coming out. Or just your love for touseled hair blondes in board shorts:)

I have found that my dreams get wierder the less sleep I have had.
Meaning the more tired I am the wierder the dream.
Is it the same with you?

Dreams. I am fascinated by them. I am a subscriber to you are all parts of your dream. Every part represents some aspect of you.

And then there are the precognitive dreams.

And then there are the lucid dreams.

And then there is the Life is but a dream.

But your dreams...let's have a drink and discuss them.

Off the record...you have serious issue woman. On the record, I think it means you are anxious and need to do some laundry.

Seriously, I love the dreams when you spend time with someone you've lost. It does make them seem not so far away.

Lost my mom 7 yrs ago too ... I have yet to dream about her .. or 'see' her .. both Husband and my Sister have 'seen' her .. weird, huh?

Most of your dreams, except the one with your mother, seem to show anxiety/stress .. and you seem to feel burdened ..

I think you need to go do yoga or take long walks and deep breaths ... and my bill will be in the mail.

I have that airplane dream too! Thanks for the explanation.
I'm thinking that there is a lot for you to deal with right now.

The surfing dudes??Well.... maybe that's your escape fantasy.

I have a recurring nightmare about planes crashing to the ground in front of me, or alien ships flying through the air. Really strange. My main concern is that you kissed a bunch of people. Don't you know how unsanitary that is? LOL

I have some really vivid dreams sometimes and some recurring ones. Perhaps a future post...

Don't you just love the talks with your Mom. My Mom shows up once in a while to lend me a mental hand. Shealso makes street lights go out when I am driving and thinking of her.
I dream in negative (lik photo negs), this happens when I am upset.

Face it Mama, you are a nurturer and that is why you had charge of the sick child.

My biggest question is...were the surfer dudes at least cute???

You win! Your dreams are weirder than mine. Lately mine have been just sad. I dreamed my hubby was married to someone else and had a child on the way with her, someone who looked like Jennifer Garner and wanted to drive her baby home in a new Lexus SUV.

I said, from the other room, "Why don't you tell her what we drove our babies home from the hospital in??"

(It was our old LTD).

Sad, sad, state of affairs...

Peace - D

(P.S. - I prescribe NO PIZZA for you!)

I rarely remember my dreams. My husband on the other hand, always dreams he is being chased.

I interpret these dreams as you are about to win the lottery or such. :)

My dreams? BORING. Like potty training happened in a day or the like. WAH.

Did I tell ya that one of the reasons we're such good friends is because you're so cwazy! :-)

I love that you dream about your mom and it brings peace. That is beautiful.

Okay for the other crap you are dreaming about...weird. I too have awful and strange dreams often. I have had a reoccuring dream since I was about 6 years old. It's my brother and I then monsters, then zombies, then vampires. Then I wake up. Always the same, always in that order. weird.

Don't you have kids in college now, or nearly? You sound really anxious about all the unknowns we've grown up hearing about when our kids go away to school.

I dream about my deceased father sometimes. I always wake up happy and comforted. I miss him so much and regret not saying things I should have said...like "I love you" just one more time. I like the dreams where I am flying. I barely skim the tops of trees and don't want people to discover my special flying powers (for some reason I am supposed to keep my flying powers secret). However, I have never - EVER - dreamed of kissing surfer dudes. That is so cool! If this happens again, may I be in your dream?

Mama, You got me on some of those dreams. I have dreams about computers that won't stay fixed. No... wait! That's real life!

I hope your inner lad starts to feel better. Did you get your garden in shape for the party?

Chesapeake Bay Woman said...

Girl, that ain't no dream, that is a fantasy come true (re the surfer dude part, the underwear part, not so much).

You can call me weird, and you'd be correct, but on a more serious note I am a firm believer that our deceased loved ones can somehow communicate with us, and through dreams is one such way. Pay close attention to those.

My worst recurring dream has to do with teeth falling out. Of course it doesn't help that in real life I have one hanging by a thread....

You are overburdened with life's issues. The sick child you carried embodied yourself. The airplane dreams signify that you are having issues regarding the next phase of your life. And the wet shorts and surfer dudes were perhaps brought on by the remnants of the post below this which I haven't read yet, but looks like another doozy of a weekend.
Damn, I wish I lived closer to CT.
I hope I haven't overstepped my bounds here, but I do play a psychologist on tv. Or was it a psycho?
Oh, and the dreams about your mother are excellent. Maybe it's her way of talking to you. I really believe it is. I wish I had dreams with my mother.

All right, here's where you envision me sitting in an incensed room chanting, but I honestly feel that sometimes we're too busy to really listen to the paths our lives are supposed to be taking, so that's where some dreams come in (some are just for entertainment, like snogging surfer dudes). I seriously believe that the dreams I had of my Dad after he was gone were real. In the dream, I know he's gone and am grateful for the time I have with him. I wake up feeling refreshed as well.

Oh my favorite dreams are the dreams where my father and daughter have visited me. They are vivid in color, smell and touch and I never forget any detail. This is unlike most other dreams I have where details quickly fade until I don't remember anything. I love thinking about dreams and always wished I could remember more details.

Oh that sounds like you had some tequila that night. I always think tequila gives dreams like that.

In my dreams I am always making money with a machine...I wonder what that means.

I've posted my final blog entry. I wanted to thank-you for becoming one of my regular readers over the last few months, your comments have always been a highlight in my day. Cheers!

I'm happy for you, dreaming about your mom and feeling comforted. That is really nice.

I love to dream and try to figure out meanings. Don't dream much any more. But when I was growing up it was always my mom and I, going west in a covered wagon. (never got there)

I usually cant remember my dreams except when I am really tired.

Then I usually dream about work. ick

a few weeks ago I spent the entire dream working on an ambulance with one of our paramedics! not a bad dream, he is a cutie, but I was exhausted when I was done.

Ever since then he has been like my best friend, every time I see him! I wonder if he knows we worked together all night? LOLOL

I think you are worn out, hope your dreams are better now, carrying that heavy kid is exhausting!

well i was thinking you were fairly normal till i got to the last one. clearly you are a nutjob. wet boxers? hello, asylum, we got any spaces?

i have a degree in psychology. that's all i'm legally allowed to do with it is tell people they are nutjobs. regardless of whether they are.

*that* should keep you guessing for a day.
