The Dog Days of August

Last week, Country Girl Kate waxed poetically about her fantastic dog George.  I must admit to having a little crush on him myself.  And if you've ever visited Pioneer Woman, you know all about her dogs.  I am still sad about Nell.  Let's not forget Dooce and her awesome Chuck and dog-in-training Coco.  Asthmagirl has her Brute Squad.  Hallie has her own Wonderful World of Weiners.  Dlyn has Riley who may win the most photogenic dog out there.

Well folks, I have Dora.
Let's look at her style.
Her poise.
She how graceful she is under her mommy's desk.
She doesn't look too worried about that mean storm outside.
Nope.  She's just fine.
Thank you very much.
Do any of you have pets with such raw talent?
I ask you:  Isn't she amazing?

Dora is truly amazing. Especially considering that my Patches disappears into the tub every time it storms. Dora shows amazing restraint.

We happen to think that any dog that doesn't bite and get its owners sued is a winner.

Dora looks MIGHTY talented. Seriously...have you considered getting her an agent?

What a beautiful pup. Is she hiding from the storms? My Maxie is brave and especially wonderful in that she always seems to need to go out when the rain is falling, the thunder clapping and the lightening stiking close to home. And I take great comfort in knowing that she has a collar with a metal ring attached to a leash with a metal clip being held by my hand! And now that she is 14 plus, she doesn't hear the thunder so she really unaffected by the noise now!

Wow. I'm retiring the Brute Squad. There's no point in going forward given Dora's sheer talent and beauty.

Sigh... it was fun while it lasted!

...Oh she's got a sweet face! And those eyes! I bet she gets anything she wants too...lol...

...Thunderstorms makes our dog eat. And so do sunny days. And now that I think about it, so does snow. And so does the theme song to Wheel of Fortune. And... Well, you get the picture... ;o)

...And I have to agree with 'tsannie' up there...Stella, how could you forget Stella?!

...And thanks for the links too. I just visited 'dlyn & Riley' - what a hoot! :o)

...Happy Monday! Blessings too...

Dora is my kind of pup!! My Labs drive us crazy around 5:30p, they bark up and down the hall for NSLO to come out of hiding and feed them. Most days they get No Satisfaction, so they come running back and park in front of me...

Dora, you can come to my house any day!

Have a great Monday.

PS: if the gum was sugarless...no calories burned.

Good Dora pix, but I'd like to request one showing her underbite. Can't get enough of those.

My dogs are Sufi Mystics. The meditate a lot. They lie motionless for hours and can appear dead on command. They are very good at "observing" squirrels and birds. They chase them through mental imaging. I haven't seen one float off the ground yet, but I'm thinking about making a doggie bed of nails.

Remember that comic who had a dog who just sat there while the guy would stand and issue commands that the dog would ignore? Funny ... I think you had to be there ..

And when in Feb is your bday asks the Aquarian

Dora looks so mellow. What a sweet face!

That's one hyper dog. Perhaps you should administer a mild sedative. Bless her heart, she's just all over the place.

I pull out my camera (but I do use a flash) and my dogs vanish into thin air.

here at Camellia Manor we are fools for dogs, and Dora just stole my heart.

I have a dog named George, too. I like it when dogs have "People" names. Dora is a good one.

Dora looks sweet....about the best talent around is being sweet. Lets see.....I have a hen who pecks my hand every morning when I try to gather the eggs underneath her. Does that count as a talented pet?

Dora is beautiful...what a face she has! I love pets, and don't even wanna know where I'd be without mine.

When they look at you with those sweet eyes...pure unconditional love, and probably thinking "where's my food." :)
