Welcome to the Mental Laundry Room.
It is your basic domestic destination.
This vista greeted me yesterday when I entered with the
9,459,767th load of the week.
Let's look a little closer.
Oopsie.
Hmmm.
I wondered what happened to that glass....
And may go some way in explaining this mystery.
At least Augie leaves me some tips.
And some chap stick.
Nice things to fish out of the dryer.
Not so much.
Gah.
Maybe this college thing is gonna be good....

What's wrong with that glass is that it's empty. Where's your Chardonnay?
your machine gives much more change than mine...
For reasons well known to you, the sight of a laundry room in ANY condition fills me with envy, nostalgia, and yearning. Pathetic, yes?
Yes, I agree...the only thing wrong is that the glass is empty. And you need to pocket all that change, quickly! :)
My machine doesn't give change at all. You're so lucky!
You're so smart to have a glass at the ready in each room! I would never have thought of that!
Some people look at the glass half empty, some look at it half full. Unfortunately you are looking at it completely empty - and that needs correcting!
They learn to check their pockets when they ruin a load of clothes for the first time - mine learned.
So what's really hiding in that bottle of Downy?
Hey - sometimes it takes a nice glass of something to get you through all of the laundry!
I would take that change and buy something fun for yourself. Well - okay - you MAY need to let it accumulate a bit more first!
The one thing different between your laundry room and mine is that glass. I think I've found the missing link ...
that is a GREAT idea - drinking during the laundry! does it make it go faster?
did you ever find that shoe?
oh wow. you are nearly done with 9,459,760 of the weekly loads! except during the summers...
What? I think a laundry room is the ideal place for a glass of wine.
I like that Holly asks if the drinking makes the laundry go faster, NO, but then you won't care after a couple, three, four glasses huh? And why aren't they doing their own laundry??? You are a good mental momma!! Your commenters comments are about as cute as your posting today. Creative readers huh???
Lisa, they do their own laundry....and if I want to do some, I have to go in and fold theirs so I can get to the equipment...As I sit here, the Baby Bird has the entire room filled with her duds. I am going right now to get her in there to fold her stuff. Thanks for the reminder;)
I love when the leave BILLS as in Dollar bills in the pockets... Hard fast rule here... You leave it I find it it is MINE! Best find ever was a 5 dollar bill however...I am 99% sure it came from one of MY pockets LOL
uh-oh...where you gonna get the spending change when the pockets go to college? Bert's Bees in the dryer? Fill that glass, honey.
did you see Willow's post about her washer/dryer and its love of Mexican food?

Funny! Yes, I too have the rule of "any cash left in pockets will be considered mine". I always check pockets before putting things in the wash ever since my son left his chapstick in a pocket and then my dryer smelled like chapstick FOREVER. FOR-EVER!
Is laundry a red or white kind of chore? :)
The rule here is also any change left is mine.
I was probably the only person in Canada who was happy when they brought in the $1.00 (loonie) and the $2.00 (twoonie) coins.
Imagine how much cash I now make in a week.
Bear((( )))
Take that change and go buy some vino for the glass...it looks so sad...
A bar in the laundry room!! There you have it! The secret to actually enjoying laundry.
"I'll be out in a minute. I'm doing your laundry. See how much I must love you. I've been in here for hours..."
Too funny! I've never found an empty wine glass in my laundry room, but nearly everything else winds up there. My personal favorite is the tiny Nintendo games.
You're funny. We are a lot alike. Except for those flip flops. But that's ok!
I now have over $100 in laundry change. That buys a bottle of chardonnay or 2...or 3....or 4....
Sweet Augie understands your predicament and is contributing to your peace of mind by donating for wine replenishment. I receive dimes and pennies occasionally...my son loves to take HIS change to the machine that produces dollars from pennies!
Wait till he hits 22 and is broke...no more tips :(
I was the only one allowed to touch the washer and dryer after a red ink pen managed to go through the entire cycle and not only ruin the clothes, but marked up the inside of my dryer FOREVER. So I washed but THEY had to fold and put away. Sure wish I would have thought of wine in my laundry room. Would have made things much easier! LOL
hey! you get money? All I get are crumpled alcohol pads and plastic monitor pad covers, and gloves. Lots and lots of disposable (hopefully unused) gloves.
My husband is a paramedic, just thought I had better explain. LOL
Steal the tip....steal the tip. Of course it is a tip. Right?
i ran the kitchen timer through the laundry one day. i thought it was a goner, but after it dried out, it seems to work better than ever.
and i always keep the money. one must.
