Giddy

UP!

Mama got her red cowboy boots.
And all is well in the world.
Unless you watch the news.
Because all is not well there.

So, I am going to provide you with a little diversion.

Garden Boots:
Barbecue Boots:
Boots and Bunnies:
Worm's Eye Boots:

And now some answers for you curious folks:
  • The Bird and I did not get any shoes in NYC last week.  We did, however, get her a beautiful graduation dress *sigh* and a few other little frocks.
  • POTUS stands for Politics of the United States.  It is channel 130 on XM radio, and it is an amazing news resource.
  • The chimp, for those of you who haven't heard, was a 200 pound "pet" of a woman in a town here in Connecticut.  His name was Travis, and he went berserk earlier in the week and almost killed a neighbor.  She had apparently changed her hairstyle and Travis the chimp didn't like it.  He was finally shot and killed by the police, but not before he basically ripped that woman's face off.  Seriously.  She has been transferred to the Cleveland Clinic today, and we may be hearing about a new face transplant....
Now go forth and have a great weekend.  And try not to watch the news too much.  It'll put a damper on just about anything.

Let's not forget Blog Fest Boots.

(BHE is investigating the possibility of a band. You can kick up your heels properly in these boots.)

I stopped watching the news about a month ago.

I LOVE red cowboy boots - I have a pair of my own and I live in them - welcome to the club!

I watch too much news - think I need a break!

LOVE.THOSE.BOOTS.!!! Seriously beautemous. They totally make up for the lack of purchasing shoes in NYC; also, the little frocks. Almost as good--some might even say better--as shoes.

You're absolutely right about the news. I am just about **this** close to not being able to handle it anymore.

Yes the news will make you want to put those boots on and kick the $nit out of someone...but it's not worth messing them up! Those boots are sweet!

Fantastic boots...really! Just what would you wear them with? Do they hurt your feet? do you wear socks with them? I am curious as you can tell.

Those boots are great! I love red.

I'm not watching the news. I read the paper and look at it online. The drama on TV is stressing me out.

Love the boots... POTUS, originally anyway, stands for President of the United States and is the shorthand term used by staffers. Maybe not anymore ;^)

Great Boots!!!

I refuse to watch tv newscasts, but I do get my news from online or the radio. I just can't watch those news people on TV!

I thought that first boot picture was so "professional" that you had borrowed it from a catalog! Nice work!

Checkered always wants to watch the news before bed - then he has to take a sleeping pill. Maybe some day he will see the correlation.

Awesome boots! You know I'm not a woman with any fashion sense what-so-evah. But I gotta ask...are those boots made for walkin'? Probably not. But they are waaaaay cool!

OMG Lauren I love those boots. I am green with envy here. Can I borrow them in August when I go to the PBR???

I stopped watching the news years ago about the same time I started taking anti depressants. LOL. It was just to much.

Might they be Cocktail Corner boots also? Love em...

I've switched from Chris Matthews/Lou Dobbs to Dog Whisperer. Much more peaceful.

I be a lovin those booties. Never worn them before tho, are they comfy? For fat feet that look like softballs?

The chimp story has been on all the news, and from the description I thought she had died only to find out that she LIVED thru that. God bless her

L.O.V.E the boots! Yes, yes, love them. Have a great weekend.

Loved the boot pictures, should have the song..These Boots Are Made For Walking playing on that post!!
I have been watching about the chimp saga and that is just so tragic. I feel so badly for everyone involved and I think for a moment the 911 dispatcher didn't believe her! I feel bad for the owner for losing her beloved pet and for her pet causing so much damage and trama to her friend. That is just so sad. No one wants any thing like that to happen in their community, nevertheless, in their own home! I am sure she is so remorseful beyond words. (I hope so anyways!) I heard she(victim) is in critical condition,
is that true?

Take care and keep up with those awesome pictures!

Oh, what wonderful boots. I sold all my boots when I left TX 10 years ago and have regretted it ever since. Turns out the Yankees think I weird anyway so the boots wouldn't have damaged my reputation at all.

Be careful wearing those in!! Probably only an hour at a time til they are broken in. Mine are boring compared to yours! Plain black but very worn in. Guess that happens after 20+ years.

So glad that Bird got her dress. Did you all go to the lady we talked about?

Have fun wearing in the boots.
Love all of your pics. You are doing great in photog class!

Joanie said...

Oh, gosh, you never cease to surprise me. I guess I don't know you very well, as I never would have pictured you wearing red cowboy boots! But, I bet you have fun! Hope you have a great weekend!!!

Those Boots are made for walking ...too! Hooray, you got your boots. :)

I don't watch the new...too many perverts out there...gets me furious.

Isn't PoTUS president of the US?

Wow those boots are something and yeah the chimp, I fianlly heard the rest of the story...insane. Just like they would charge the owner of a pitbull who mawled someone, the owner of this this chimp needs to be charged as well. It is so irresponsible to keep a wild animal with the strength of 10 men in your house. Totally freakin' stupid.

How ever did I miss this post? Awesome boots.

Yeah, heard about Travis' undoing. Pretty tragic.

Sa-WEET boots! These are extremely sassy!!

If only they had lucite heels...

And, pray tell, what Ralph Lauren-esque beauty does one wear with those? Or are they more of an evening dress sort of thing?

Flea said...

Oh my word. I drop out of life for a few weeks and miss the best stories. Love your boots!

I love those boots - love them! And yeah, I can't watch the news... too depressing, so instead I keep my head in the sand.
