Camera Class

As you may recall, Santa brought Mama a new camera.  It is quite the gadget, and has waaay too many buttons and doodads.  So, I signed up for a fun, interactive class over at ipost's place.  The class is called "Get off the Green Square" and is designed to help neophytes like me learn how to take a picture using a setting other than the Auto setting (the green one).

Our first assignment is due tomorrow, and I thought I'd share a couple of my masterpieces shots with you.  But first, I want to give you a comparison to go by.  I went to the beach to shoot the sunset, and apparently there was a fellow next to me doing the very same thing.  Only he turned his shot over to our local blog WestportNow and they published it.

Nice, right?

Is that first shot the one he took for publising? If so yours are much better in my opinion. Love the colors in the last one especially.

I like yours! I love shooting sunsets and sky... you have the added advantage of water!

I'm interested to see how your shooting improves with the class. I had a friend show me how to change settings on my camera and I'm feeling more in control now!

You go Mama!

The shot which captured the bird in flight is super! Such a great shot. Glad you are getting off the green square - something I doubt I will ever, ever do!

You hit a home run with the last one. Really. Some of my friends who are very dedicated photographers take hundreds of photos for that one perfect shot. I'm not that manic...yet!
Good work!

Yours are way better honestly!!! The last one has a three D effect to it. Just beautiful and the shots are worthy of printing on canvas.

I am so excited for you. Maybe a new career as a photographer?

His focus was tighter and I bet he had a filter on his lens .. just sayin ...

As for composition which IMO is more important than what setting you use .. is PERFECT!

Your shots are clearly superior, and I know because sunsets are one of my favorite subjects.

BTW, can you tell me how to use any other button besides the green one? Becuse that's all I know how to use.

I am so jealous...why is it some people can just pick up a camera and get it....me??? it takes forever and I still don't get it! Don't make me come up there and take your camera away!

And what a view to take a picture of!!!! You are awesome!
