Sick Mama

I am battling a cold, a wicked case of TMJ and I now have a canker sore on the side of my tongue.  Pretty, huh? I am sure I will sprout a few hairy warts on my nose by the end of the day.

All this brings to mind an obituary I read on Friday for a 68 year old woman.  Her daughter wrote that she "passed into her next dimension" with her family at her side.  And that since her mother "claimed that she was going to live to be 180, they were all understandably shocked."

I had another excellent adventure with Miss K yesterday.  I am working on a post for that.  Hope to have it up in a bit.

Try some salt on that "sore" ... seems to help me.

Where did you read that obit? In the Hour? I missed it! That's one worthy of cutting out for Lucia.
Feel better my friend.

Awww... hope you get to feeling better soon. And stay away from the next dimension... for a long time.

Indulge your discomfort today. It always works for me. The obit? Is the daughter humorous or crazy?

swishing with hydrogen peroxide cleared up my last canker sore in a flash. That obit? That was so sad, that woman cut down in her prime like that. I'm assuming she didn't half live the half of the life she had, or she never would have rated such a great obit.

My TMJ flares up from time to time too---what a pain in the jaw! Sorry to hear that you have a cold and aren't feeling well. Here's a bowl of virtual chicken soup & well wishes that Mama finds herself better than ever in no time at all!

Hope your Thanksgiving holiday was a good one!

Get some Alum from the spice section and put on it...that works...tastes like heck...but it works. Your reserves are probably down and out and you just need a good ol' rest.

I hear that wine will kill germs. Maybe you could try that.

I hope you feel better soon.

Oh MPM..do hope that you feel better. Try a little brandy.
TMJ sucks big time, both NSLO and I have it too.

hate those damn canker sores! the seem to come in waves with me. sometimes after eating a lot of acidic foods (salsa with lime, for ex). there is some kind of mouth wash at the pharmacy now, I forget what it's called. I got a sample in the mail and I think it helped. I also use an oral campho-phenique that helps.

My Mom was almost 68 when she passed away. I wish she could have lived to 150. God always knows best..Feel better soon hon!

I'm sorry to hear you're under the weather, I hope you feel better soon.

My favorite grandmother who drank "only for medicinal purposes" kept a bottle of Aqua Vit (not to be confused with Aqua Velva) in her icebox...it was to be used for sores, sore throats, tooth aches, and hangnails. Or something like that...All I know is that I remember being 12 and having a tooth ache and her forcing me to hold LIQUOR onto my tooth for a period of what felt like ten years.

If you do not have any Aqua Vit handy, perhaps gargle with some Aqua Velva....that'll certainly kill any germs--or taste buds, or brain cells.

Or just do what I'd do: swirl a glass of merlot, then gargle with it. Swallow. Rinse, repeat until bottle is empty.

It's better than Vicks Formula 44, I tell you.
