Mama's Holiday Adventure

Miss K treated me to another excellent adventure on Sunday.  We drove to Hartford to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra.  And, let me just tell you now, if you ever get the chance, you must go.  They are that good.

We started out in the early afternoon and soon discovered that the entire state of Massachusetts had emptied out for Thanksgiving.  They were all returning home on Sunday, and they were in danger of making us late for our show.  We were not happy.  We yelled at them to get out of our way.

We made it to our seats with ONE minute to spare.  And did I tell you yet that Miss K got SECOND ROW seats?  I know I am screaming, but it was just that good.  What a show.

This guy? He was my favorite.  He winked at me.
Me!  Mental P Mama IN THE SECOND ROW!
In my snappy turtleneck and red sweater. Gah.
Next year I'm breaking out a better outfit.
And we are going to sit CLOSER.  Right Miss K?
The drums were mind boggling.
Anna the fiddler never sits still.
I think that's how she stays the size of a sparrow.
I am going to take some violin lessons.
And try out for the team;)
Unbelievable.
Did I mention we were in THE SECOND ROW?
They even made it snow.
On our SECOND ROW seats.
They also had fire.
It was hot--especially in THE SECOND ROW.
After the show, we repaired across the street.
To let the traffic clear;
Maybe also for a cocktail.
And to relive the whole wonderful thing.
What a way to start the holidays.
They are that good.
Thanks, K!

Please tell Ms. Sparrow that if she's going to limbo, she needs to drop the shoulders A LOT and bend the knees A TAD, otherwise she'll never make it.

I hate to see people disqualified from the limbo so soon into the game.

Sounds like a wonderful show. And SECOND ROW seats - well you must be a very special friend to rate SECOND ROW seats.

As for the traffic, those people from Mass must have been in NJ because it too the boy well over three hours to make the 2 1/2 hour trip back to college.

Which row were you in?

Is that a jello shooter tube?

WOW! I LOVE TSO, but had NO IDEA they could be so much fun:)

The Celtic Women are coming to my neck of the woods in June....they are awesome as well!!

Oh uh....did you by chance sit in the second row?
So glad that you all had a good time. My back would break if I bent like the fiddler!!
Are you feeling better?

They're in this area, too, this month. Checkered begged me to go for our anniversary. I just kept responding with, " We have no $$$." So now I have two choices: I can admit that I have made a mistake or I can forget that I just read this post. Hmmm.

Oh, how much fun! What a way to kick off the season.

And also - I grow weary of PW, too. I actually don't read it everyday although I think that's exactly opposite of what I said.

Squazz--there was a first row, but only the cool people were allowed to sit in the second row. Are you jealous that you didn't get invited?

Gosh, I bet you had a hard time seeing. Oh no, WAIT, you were in the second row! Sounds like a wonderful time and I agree violin lessons are a great idea. I didn't have much luck in the 4th grade with it, but at our age Mama, maybe you're on to something!

This is an AWESOME way to ring in December! I've wanted to go see Trans Siberian Orchestra for the past 2 years---hubby's always so good about getting tickets and great seats---but he's just never gotten ANY for this show. Maybe this year. After reading your post, I hope so!

Glad you had fun, in the SECOND ROW!! :-)

P.S. I meant to tell you I like the new look---especially the header with the "pause" in the middle. It made me chuckle.

I am so glad you got to go! We were thinking about going to one of the ones in NH when we were at my sister's but we thought too long and it sold out. Maybe next year :)
