Cleaning

Snakes and snails,
and puppydog tails.
That's what boys are made of....
and apparently a whole bunch of crap in a car.
My boychild gives "junkyard" a new name.
And, you can hear his crap music before he pulls onto our road.
Embarrassed much?
Good thing he's so darn cute.

Does anyone else have a boy out there?
Trying to convince him that all this crap school stuff costs $ to drive around.
Greening and teens?
Notsomuch.

Yep, have one of those boys, although he's only 13.

He lives upstairs in a dungeon that he has decorated with empty water bottles, ice cream bowls with ice cream melted in them, mis-matched socks (dirty, of course), clothes (dirty and clean)strewn everywhere, trash, trash and more trash, a kitchen sink and a kindergarten teacher's body.

OK, maybe not all of that, but most of it and then some. He lives in squalor and appears to prefer it over any other way of living.

Boychildren X 3 and Girlchildren (with much more crap) X 4 = a whole lotta crap.

I thoroughly understand your point.

YES Cory is a PIG... he has two vehicles and when they clean them out OMG... and his girlfriend is just as bad... they are so lucky to be so cute!

I just want to know one thing...how can our boy children emerge from bedrooms that look like the hounds of hell have ridden through leaving enormous amounts of smelly dirty grossness, and look and smell so clean? It amazes me every single time.

Hey wait a minute... is that my beach chair in his back seat?

If you can call a 58 year old carpenter a boy, then yes. He calls it a pickup truck, I call it his purse.

And the worst part of their cars is the smell.

In high school, his car was loaded with food wrappers and empty water and Gatorade bottles, along with assorted clothes, ties (Catholic high school) and change. And he always had an air freshener hanging which I think made the smell even worse.

And all that changed this summer when he got a brand new car - yes, we bought a new (one with more air bags and safety features and not 11 years old for traveling the Merrit Parkway), not just new to him (aka used) car. The inside is considerably cleaner, but the air freshener scent remains the same. He claims he needs it because of the body stench from rowing. I tried to explain that there are other things to make the cars smell less like a locker room, but he insists on those "trees" hanging in the car. Of course, what do I know, I'm only the mother!

By the way, it took me most of a day to straighten up his room after he left for college. After three weeks of "packing" (watching TV while claiming to be packing), his room looked no different than when he came home from college in the spring.

It's my ADHD daughter who will some day drown in her own pile of discarded clothing, et cetera.

The good news about the car like that is that there isn't so much room for friends.

I don't have any boys... except the old goat, and he's "cluttered" but never "pit of hell" dirty.

However Girlfriend's car... it's a contstant effort... work clothes, water bottles, tanning lotions, hair scrunchies, more water bottles, text books, her stethascope, scrubs and 12 pairs of shoes. It's like a closet on wheels!

I have a boy, a six year old one. I understand I'm going to blink and he'll be sixteen. Sigh. Sunrise, sunset.

My daughter gets her license in November. She will be driving her brother's car since he is at school. I expect that it will look like the inside of a dumpster within two days. She is like Pigpen, from Peanuts. She carries her own debris field around with her. It is truly frightening.

Mary

Wow! That is a LOT of stuff! I don't have any kiddos and Hubby and I were both raised in the "Don't leave junk in the car!" way by our parents so . . . our cars are spotless. Sorry!

I LOVE it! Boys are so fun, and I love the football gear! Every stage is so fun, and I love teenagers!

When my kids were young, my daughter was the neat freak and my son lived in a garbage pit. Now that they are grown and on their own, they have done a 180. It makes no sense to me. No sense at all.

I know, get him a U-haul van and maybe that will give him the hint!!! That is a lot of "stuff" he is carrying around. My daughter has a lot of junk in her car and my husband is the worst. Can't stand riding in his truck (which used to be my truck! and it was clean) oh goodness.

My boy child is grown and doesn't live close so I have no idea what his vehicle looks like. However your boy child and my own vehicle looks much the same.

Mine don't drive yet. They leave their crap all over the house, thanks. :)

"Greens and teens" that's freaking hilarious Mental P!
Isn't it funny how girls find them attractive? (I'm sorry, but my boys smell like boys no matter how hard I try to fight it)

OMG! I can't believe you posted this today!! Last night, Snow White actually came home before dark. She was inside doing homework, and The Surveyor and I went over to her car to see when her inspection was due. I almost cried when I looked into her car. I did not take a picture because I would have died of embarassment.

12 water bottles, an empty Iced Coffee cup from McDonald's, three random CD's without cases, a pair of character shoes, a change of clothes, a Luna Bar wrapper and a partridge in a pear tree.....*dies of shame*

well I have a daughter that could be just as bad, given the chance. LOL

Oh that is hysterical, I have so much to look forward too.

My son used to live that way. An awful pig was he.

I visited his apartment last week and was surprised at the place. It was gleaming! And he didn't even know I was coming until an hour before I got there.

Then try cramming all that crap into a 8 foot by 10 foot jail cell they try to pass off as a dorm room.

That really stretched my creativity to the limit!

That would drive me sooooo crazy!! Boys have tremendous tolerance for junk...and little hairs in the sink, both those things.

...OMG!(*shudders*)... That's not a car - that's a closet. On wheels. ;o)
