Once upon a time there were four little Rabbits, and their names were -- Flopsy, Mopsy, Cotton-tail, and Peter. They lived with their Mother in a sand-bank, underneath the root of a very big tree.
Once upon a time there were 3 little happy cocktail ladies sitting in a corner. They all have wonderful blogs and are good friends. When the sun comes out, they will emerge from their corner even happier.
Is that bunny in your yard? I love to see them in the "wild" they are so cute and so unexpected. BTW, the Peter Cottontail story always made me nervous as a kid. I was so worried that he would get caught or that he was going to get in trouble with his mom. Does that say something about me?
When you think about it, and this is the first time I ever have, "flopsy," "mopsy" and "peter" together as one phrase may have a dual meaning, where dual equals not something most men would be proud of.
Now that I've ruined a completely wonderful childhood story, (I promise to be good in my comments this coming week, really I do) I'd like to say that is one cute rabbit and a great picture.
...Aww, what a cute photo! We don't have much of a rabbit population around here, we have a resident coyote and stray cats that keep 'em in check...(*sigh*) Which can make for awful sounds in the dead of the night... :o/
No, they lived beneath my porch and ate many of my flowers and vegetables. In the winter, they ate my shrubs and the bird seed that fell on the ground. They procreated and their babies wound up drowned in my pool. They torment my aging dog and leave oodles of droppings that she thinks are chocolate drops.
Rabbits are cute as long as they are in someone elses yard. Sorry.
Yeah. I'm there with Ellen. Because the ones that don't live in her yard live in mine. Where they eat my shrubs and conspire with the BOLD squirrels to overtake my deck and chomp through anything even slightly green. I'd be a lot more fond of them if they weren't such destructive little suckers! And if they would just move on to someone else's yard. But, other than that, have a happy and serene Sunday. :)
Awww - my granmother was a freak for Peter Rabbit and read it to us thousands of times when we were kids. I have a little stone rabbit in my back garden in her memory. Nice post Lauren!
I ♥ the story of Peter Rabbit...but I really really ♥ Brer Rabbit and Brer Fox stories...we had bunnies when our children were small and we enjoyed them alot...except when the cats would come and that is a horribly sad sound in the night...
What a precious photo! We don't see many bunnies around here. We do, however, have a large rodent (as in field mouse) population. I uncovered one of the chairs in our yard only to find a field mouse staring back at me. She had chewed a hole in one of our cushions to make a warm nest. I didn't have the heart to cause it harm. I shoed it away but there are plenty to follow as the night temps dip. Arggghhhh!

I like Debbie's Peter Cottontail story better.
Oh, that was my son's favorite story. I loved reading to him. Cute little bunny.

In second grade I was the Mommy Rabbit in the Peter Cottontail play, I loved it.

After reading Debbie's comment and after the weekend I've had, I really need a drink. I am leaving now for the licorice store.
Cute wabbit, btw.
