are you not using the Cloud? Do you not have Photo Stream? Any photo you take with any app on your phone will go into Photo Stream and be viewable on your MacBook, iPhone and iPad .. then if you want to use it on Instragram all you need to do it 'import' it from Photo Stream into iPhoto on your MacBook and the photo program on your iPhone and/or iPad .. AND if you take a photo with something other than Instagram and want to share it on Instagram you can open it in say SnapSeed (an editing program for iPhone/iPad/iMac and then send it to Instagram ... TADA!

I still don't know how to do this. But I will tell you that I'm a purist. I thought Instagram was about uploading photos taken by phones, yet I see all these people using their DSLR's (it's quite obvious) and sharing them via Instagram. But I think you done good there, mama.
