This 'n That Thursday

Pure drivel:

  • It's going to be almost 70 here today.
  • Extreme weather deviations give me a closet crisis.
  • I am going on a road trip with The Bird tomorrow. She's driving.
  • Is it just me, or has Tom Selleck managed to get hotter?
  • Speaking of hot, besides a midnight ice bath, what's a cure for these late night episodes?
  • I am addicted to Ezekiel cereal.
  • I've had two doses of radiation. I go every afternoon for 6 weeks. I love all the people there.
  • How do you clean an iron that has burned gunk on it?
  • Thanks to my offspring, my new obsession is Hanging with Friends.  gah
  • Is it hot in here?
You?

You take a sheet of waxed paper and
'iron' it ... the iron will get ungunked or buy a new iron .. wait.. who irons? did you know there are dry cleaners and laundries?

Try not drinking red wine and avoid caffeine in the evening and your thermostat will lower (did you ask if the radiation is aiding and abetting your hot flashes?)

Glad that you are doing well and spending some quality time with your precious Bird. Enjoy!

My iron is my dryer. If that doesn't remove wrinkles, off to Good Will!
Hot flashes...I has dem.

Try WD-40. It works on most things.

Easiest way to de-gunk is to throw it out and buy another:)

A road trip with the Bird sounds just what the doc ordered. I was gonna say wax paper, but Daryl beat me to it. I'm glad you like the ones who are giving the radiation, I know that helps a lot.

Sending hugs and prayers your way. Enjoy the trip. :)

i sort of remember my step mother going into a complete hissy when they came here to visit several years back and we did not own one.... seems like she went somewhere and bought one and attempted to leave it here... I protested and sent it packing with her....
Hot flashes... YES... sleep nakid and be ready to toss covers then search later when you get cold :)
Road trippin with BIRD YIPPIE! and glad the radiation peoples are awesome that will make the daily visits so much better! love you!

Just buy a new iron. Also, try using only distilled water in it for steam. That seems to keep it clean for me. I detest ironing but I'd go broke if I had to send everything out.

Have a great time with the baby bird!

I will throw an item away before ironing it. Ironing was created by Satan himself. Like Annie, if I have to get rid of a wrinkle or two, I toss it in the dryer.

Enjoy your time this weekend. You certainly deserve it.

I love hanging with friends my new game though is Draw Something. You chose a word out of 3 to draw send it to a friend and they try to guess what it is then they draw something for you! SO FUN

My mother taught me to clean a gunky iron by sprinkling salt between two pieces of waxed paper and then ironing over the waxed paper on a low setting.

Awk! I found nothing to help with those hot periods. But Daryl is right, coffee and wine exacerbate it. Damn!

I hope you are holding up OK from the radiation treatments! {{{hugs}}}

I'd rather throw it out than iron or repair it! Have a great time with the baby bird and be careful.

I would stop thinking about Tom Selleck and that may help.

I have a supply of gel filled ice/cold packs you but in the drug store or drug isle. They come in small sizes and are great for hot flashes, head aches, hangovers, and hot summer nights. Put it on your forhead or the back of your neck and replace with a fresh one out of the freezer (as necessary). They help me get to sleep. Good luck on the hot flashes and everything else. You are thought of and loved. Liz S.
