Tuesday Text: Parentexting™

Riveting conversations with two young adults who clearly think I have lost all ability for rational thought:
The Villanova student:
Really?
You are wearing a Villanova jersey?
At the Villanova game?

The STUDENT:
Seriously?
You don't have enough time for all your work?
And you have to get right to that John Mayer concert?
And I'm supposed to be all worried about this why?

And a really good thing I've discovered with this Parentexting™ business?
I can just shut my phone off and walk away.
Life is good in my little empty nest.

If I were still in school, I'd GLADLY skip a John Mayer concert to do homework. That guy gives me the uber heebie jeebies, and all of his songs sound the same to me.

I for one TOTALLY understand skipping homework for John Mayer. I love his music! Different strokes for different folks!

Wouldn't be the first time a college student got some studying in at a concert -- mmm, I'm having a bit of a flashback here...

The funny thing is she will go to the concert and successfully finish her homework. They always find a way. :)

I am so totally impressed with your attitude! Good for you!
The best thing I ever do for our 4 young adults is ignore them...smiles.

You have raised two fabulous young people ...

I think they're both completely logical people. Did he wave and did she enjoy the concert?

Too funny! I like that you just turn the phone off and walk away. Those kiddos need to learn about time management on their own!

Just think, twenty years from now you will be having these conversations with your grandkids..it never ends. God only knows what the technology will be like then. Virtual in your face?

The concerts are always priority ONE.

Isn't it amazing how quickly that dreaded empty nest isn't so awful any more?

You're great, Mental P! I'm taking lessons for when mine flies the coop.

I love Tuesdays...I really do.

I totally get the "turning off the phone thing".

It's a little harder to turn the parenting off when the kids are right in front of you!

That said, I'm glad my girls are home!

And when does this ability to walk away without worrying really begin???

They assign homework in college?

I'm so glad the parenting has gotten easier. And I can understand wanting to see John Mayer in concert.

They say kids study better with music....hahahahah....your children crack me up.......I love this text thing you have where you share it with us....I would love to show some of mine......they have such different brains...kids do....I use to tell my kids...your lack of preparation does not cause an emergency on my part.....sadly it never soaked in with #5!!!!!!!!

I'd skip the rest of the semester for a John Mayer concert.

Mr. Villanova may be setting up a decoy. He will probably be sitting with his rugby buddies in polo shirts vs. villanova jerseys. They'll be the ones pounding beer, doing the wave and singing fraternity songs at fever pitch. They'll be fine.

I'm turning the computer switch off for you now so you don't have to do it....

Nothing like a kid setting priorities. Sounds all too familiar.

I've been to the Mayer concert and have to agree with the Student that it is a necessity. ;0)

That is so funny about the concert. She HAS to "rush." Oh , to be young and rushing to a concert again...
