Tuesday Text: Parentexting™

The Bird's Spring Break--
She came home, and went out.
Some friends came from Virginia, and they went out.
Then they all went to Vermont to ski, and I had the following conversation:
Can someone please clarify for me the concept of a home cooked meal?
Don't the participants have to be, like, home?
Right?

What did you cook for your neglected only daughter?

The real question is - did you finish her laundry???

I was thinking the same thing! How can you make her a meal if she isn't ever home? Maybe you need to chain her to the table for one night so she can't complain!

Did it ever actually happen?

I wouldn't know what a home cooked meal is unless you include a barbecue!

I'm thinking!

What was the home cooked meal? Any special requests?

My brother is 36 and he and his family are coming home this weekend - Mom has asked what he wants for dinner. You don't ever outgrow that!

That is just plain funny. Out of town and looking for a home cooked meal from mom. It just goes to show no matter how old they are....."out of the mouths of babes, oft time come gems".

This sounds eerily familiar from Meg's first year in college. And I'd be willing to bet I'll get reruns of the same when she's home before she deploys.

They totally have to be home for that. Lasagna from the freezer counts, right?

Who's goosie?

Home cooked meal in my cousin's house was a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup.

Goosie, if you make it, they will come.

Oh my gosh, I'm giggling at these comments. I agree with Daryl & Chesapeake Bay Woman: guilt is never a good thing & cook it and they will come! :) (Is she home for spring break?)

I think of you often & wonder how you're getting along with the mostly empty nest. Hugs!

I'm confident that teenagers can smell food from Vermont...no matter what the state in which it's being prepared. Well, maybe that's just food in general! So....what did you fix?

Recently, I received a request for Lime Squares...what's up with THAT?

I think it involves potatoes, too.
