My Man...

Is probably spinning in there.
Am I the only one sick and tired of every single elected person in this country?

I live in Detroit - aka Land of Corruption. It's a place where mayors are convicted and then refuse to make good on their punishment and the courts say that's okay. It's a place where no deals are done without greased palms and where politicians are little gods. How about a school system where corrupt politics have stolen everything including textbooks and toilet paper and the man whose job it is to clean up the mess now has to be accompanied by a body guard?

Throw them all out: Washington to Detroit. Time to start again.

No, I'm with you. I like the idea of how it all began, different people from many walks of life (not just lawyers) took time out to serve their state or country for a time period, then they went back home to resume their own careers and someone else then stepped up. I do not think being a politician should be a career choice but a public service.

I hear ya. Tomorrow is primary election day here in TX. I've already told my whiny friends that if they don't vote I don't want to hear them complain.
Amen :)

I am fed up with pols who talk but dont listen .. McCain is at the top of my list .. he's still whining about promises made on the campaign trail (I would love a peek into an alternate universe where he was elected and get to see where his promises lay...) AND he cites issues with the health care bill which Obama agrees are wrong and keeps talking as if Obama disagreed ... and he is at the tip of the iceberg right above Cheney .. you know why he keeps surviving those heart attacks? He doesnt have one ...

Yep it's time for another War of Independence and definitelt time to stop the beuracratic machine. Money sucking vampires. First they get to stop all their benefits and self appointed raises... working in the system should be an act of service, not a jackpot of gold--our gold.
He is rolling over and over...

I strongly dislike all politicians, but I would belly up to the bar if only we had good old "TJ" reincarnated!

Nope. I'm right there with you. It seems as if nothing will ever change with the big machine called Washington DC. and all it's little robots throughout the US.

Oh how I love Thomas.

He might be a bit flustered with how it's turned into "Me the People" instead of "We the People" where "me" equals the haves and the "we" meaning everybody.

Seriously...you'd think we would be getting BETTER at the democracy thing after all these years.

The same words have been spoken all through history, i.e. the battle over Social Security, the battle over Medicare. The American people have been saying the same things since the beginning of our country, it's rather interesting to read about the history of our nation and our love/hate relationship with our government and politicos. Thanks for sharing.

I don't know for sure is this is true, but from my observations there's a
strong possibility it is.

In a Purdue University government class, they were discussing the
qualifications to be President of the United States . It was pretty
simple,
the candidate must be a natural born citizen of at least 35 years of age.

However, one girl in the class immediately started in on how unfair was
the
requirement to be a natural born citizen. In short, her opinion was that
this requirement prevented many capable individuals from becoming
president.

The class was taking it all in and letting her rant, but everyone's jaw
hit
the floor when she wrapped up her argument by stating, "What makes a
natural born citizen any more qualified to lead this country than one born
by C-section..????"

Yep, these are the same 18-year-olds that just elected the new President
of
the United States . Now we know why.....

And don't forget, "They walk among us!"
