Meet Molly

My newest obsession.
Molly is a Barn Owl.
Her mate is McGee.
Molly is here with what is believed to be her first clutch.
This is a live cam outside her owl box near San Diego.
It is on 24/7.
Black and white is the night vision.
It is in color during the daylight hours PST.
We have two owlets so far: Max and Pattison.
McGee roosts in a nearby palm tree during the day.
At night he visits to "bond" and bring food.
Molly leaves the box at night for a few minutes to fly around and poop.
Sometimes I cannot watch her eat her dinner.
Nature is neat but sometimes too real for me.
There are three more eggs that might hatch.
Owl eggs hatch in order of when they were laid.

Now settle in and watch this.
When you don't get anything done today, you can thank me later.

What next? Thanks for introducing us to Molly!

She must have had a crazy night - she seems to be sleeping pretty soundly:)

Fabulous .. I sent that link to our Lisa who is an animal lover addicted to things like this, she was devastated when the hummingbird mama left the nest ..

She seems to be dozing. So tired. Head nobs. Eyes closed. Sun shines on her. I bet she is proud,

I also love the eagles at Norfolk Botanical Garden. www.wvec.com. The babies are a couple of weeks old and are so much fun to watch. Their little heads bobbing around as they try to hold them up and get their parents attention for food. Thanks for sharing the owl, I will continue to watch with amazement!!!!

Aha! She has an unwavering stare! Molly knows her own bird mind.

At least that's what the look she was just giving me said. Isn't it funny that some of the things we do online are actually about simplifying our lives a bit? Watching puppies, birds, owls.

I had a friend link to her doggie day car/kennel when she was away on vacation, and we spent a shocking amount of time watching doggie day car.

Sometimes the simplest sights are just the most engrossing.

How adorable! I'm also following 5 baby barn owls in Orange County CA and a Bald Eagle (with two eggs) on Catalina Island. I love the peak into the world of mother nature.

Molly, McGee and kids live down the road a piece from us. Our local PBS station talked with the man who has Molly. He told a funny story about not knowing how to use Skype, FBook, Twitter, etc., had his three cameras going only to look up and see himself in his pjs, hair askew, being beamed across the world. LOL

Stopping back by to say congratulations on the post of the week mention over at Hilary's for the addictive Owls!

In a weird aside, my husband and I have a tendency to all each other McGee...because we're both ridiculous people, years ago I met him at the top of the stares, and in my best Bondian Villain voice, I tented my fingers together and said, "Cuddles McGee, we meet again."

Now everything is McGee. "Making dinner McGee." "Running Around the House, Desperately looking for a battery McGee."

So when I showed this to my husband, he wanted to know how someone had gotten ahold of what is clearly our designated owl. Yup, addictive and goofy, all at once.

stairs, not stares. Ay yi yi. More coffee and fresh horses for my men...or something less ridiculous.

I'm with one of your previous commenters... I just can't get involved. ;-) No, really, amazing stuff. Congratulations on the potw.

Mental pause is clearly not just for Mamas. I'm just now realizing it isn't Wednesday.

Now go and watch The Fourth KIND. You owe me that for making me sit here staring at an owl when I still have sleep calling my name.

Congrats on your POTW mention!

(sorry for the deleted comment, I look stupid enough without giving the wrong movie titles)
