I Squishy Heart Amtrak...

...because it will bring me this present today:
Charlottesville to Connecticut.
I will hug her and squeeze her.
And kiss her.
Then she will get in her car,
and go see her friends.
Life is good.

What a lovely gift! Daughters are the best! Five minutes is plenty of time for some quality hugging!

Yup, I'm always glad to have those first few moments with the kids before they are off to see their friends...

Thankfully, as they get older, they prefer more time with mom and dad than their friends. Really.

very good. And later, much later, she'll stick with you. When the little ones are tugging on you both.

Daughters are the best...but the boys are pretty good too!

Enjoy your time with her. You will be best friends before you know it, and she will want to be with you!

I can see why you love Amtrak.
As for me...I'm still trying to mend.

Did you bake her one of Paula Deen's Red Velvet cakes?? Now THAT will get her to stay longer than 5 minutes;)

Be thankful that she attends school close enough to ride Amtrak home. Did I tell you that Baylor has dangled a MASSIVE carrot in front of Snow White??? Lord, help us!!!

Awww! Lucky Mama...Lucky Bird.

I've always wanted to go somewhere via Amtrak...specifically Chicago. I think it would be fun. But I digress...this isn't about me. :)

Welcome home, Bird! Enjoy, all!

What a beauty! I know I say that everytime you post her picture, but it's true.

At least she has her priorities straight....mama first, THEN friends.

Awwww, sweet! Enjoy! :)

Aw, that's wonderful! What fun, having the kiddos come home. I keep telling myself that I will miss my son next year (he lived at home for his freshman year of college). I'm not sure I believe me, at times :-)

You have a marvelous visit! Spring break bringing the little birds back to the nest, after you've had a chance to miss them. Whee!
