Yes We Can

And we did.  America grew up last night.  In spite of fear mongering, in spite of presumed rampant racism, in spite of all the innuendo; Americans got together and made an investment in their future.  Rising above fear and embracing the possibilities, we move on to the next chapter.  With an eloquent and healing speech from Senator McCain, we are again The United States.

And I have never been more proud of my country.

Hurray for decisions based not on fear, but on hope!

It's gotta be a better future, what with everyone being so joyful and all. I SO hope that is true; I so hope that people don't prove to be "just people" and find something else to gripe about! I SO hope this is the answer.

McCain's speech was very healing, wasn't it? I was pleased to see that he immediatly called President Obama "his" president.
Excuse me while I wipe a tear...
Our guy was humble. He was hopeful. I feel so good today. And I slept so well last night...

I still fear the future. It is not controlled by one man. Our economy is a shambles, and it is not President Bush's fault and it is not President elects Obama's single handedness to fix it. It is US, as each and every one of us in this U.S. to change things. And the world around us has to work with us too. We are none so powerful by ourselves. I hope this has a happy ending. That is how it is in the fairytales.

i agree with Lisa J... I am hopeful that the right choice has been made and I am totally confident that God is in Control.
I do hope to see the country united, nothing makes me so ill as when people place blame and critisism on to one person when it takes all to make things happen. Our congress is very responsible for many things and yet they are not given the blame when things dont go as planned.
Anyway I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad the vote is done and all the political ads will be gone from the bit of tv I do watch I hate the attack ads blah blah blah
Happy Wednesday :)

It was a gracious speech but it was clear from the Boo'ing that there is a lot of healing to be done ...

Just glad the election is over! And yes, McCain's speech was very eloquent and humble. He's a good guy.

Obama's speech was also very good - although I'd like to just once, see some real emotion from this guy - pump his fists in the air, cheer, emit a little bit of joy... but that's okay, that's not him. It would just be nice to see.

You can never go wrong with humility and class. No matter which party you support.
