Mama's Book Club

Due to the overwhelming response two comments I received about it, we are going to start our virtual Book Club.  I think I would like to host it here to start, and do a Mr. Linky thing-y on the "meeting" day.  Then, others can take turns hosting, and moderating the "discussion."

I think we should nominate the book we want to read, and I'll have it up for a vote on Wednesday (tomorrow).  Then, we'll have our first meeting in December.  Since I am hosting the first one, I will write my objective opinion and you all can post a comment, sign up on Mr. Linky, and publish your own review on your site that day.  By the way, you lurkers and non-bloggers are welcome to play, too.  We want lots of input!

Of course, I might entertain am open to other suggestions.  Whaddaya think?

I am not going to suggest a book this time.  Although, I might say that the Twilight movie comes out this month....

I'm a Bella! I found out through TwilightersAnonymous.com. Which Twilight Female Are You? Take the quiz and find out!
Take the Quiz and Share Your Results!

Now, go vote.

Based on the fact that I haven't read anything other than a phone book in the past 10 years, I will sit back and watch from afar but admire your willingness to organize a book club.

Now, I am off to vote!

I've read the Twilight books one through three already. Read most of The Host last week and was disappointed and put it down. But Twilight was good.

Can't wait to go vote. I'm for the book club in theory... I just haven't had time to read lately.

Not that I need them, but I can't get my bifocals until January. Until then, I will join the club and simply squint.

Count me in for the book club.

And I apologize for giving away the spoiler in Breaking Dawn - I'm so sorry! I just wasn't thinking about people who were reading the books.

I voted this morning. It did my heart good to see all the folks there to vote. :-)

Voted before dawn,um, work this morning! I am SO in on the book club. Let me go out on a limb and say that I have not yet read "The Shack", and would LOVE to find a good reason to do so.

I voted mid morning and it was a breeze. It was sweet that when a boy voted for his first time (we vote at a school) everyone clapped and cheered for him. Small school, small community, and huge spirits. I thought that was way cool!

i voted but the poll workers were grouchy and wouldn't give me a sticker!

I'm reading Pigs in Heaven. It's great. It's not actually about religion. I voted today! Yay, no more campaign commercials.

I love memoirs, and am interested in your book club. Please tell me/us how the "hosting" process would work?
Read a great funny memoir called, "Fat, Forty and Fired," about a CEO of an ad agency who gets fired and stays home to take care of 4 kids under the age of 8. Hilarious from a Dad's perspective. Also loved, "French by Heart," by Rebecca Ramsey. An American Family's Adventures in La Belle France. Also very funny and well written.

I took the quiz and I'm an Esme. No surprise there. Just reading about this MPBC and I'm still pondering. Only because it would require me to BUY the book.

I love the idea though and for gosh sakes, paperbacks aren't that expensive! I also have never read any Twighlight books.
