Cranky Mama

I remember back when my rugrats were in elementary school I would often get cranky at this point in the summer.  I don't know why, but I did, and it would eventually pass.  I have always found that my cranky episodes, given enough time and space, will go away.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the cranks have returned to mental land. Unannounced, unwanted and for no good reason.  Does this ever happen to you?  Free-floating crankiness. The kids are good.  Life is good.  Still have enough $ to pay the utilities.  And yet I feel cranky, sad, out of sorts and blah.

Maybe something big is about to happen....That's what I'm going with.  Yup, something big is about to happen. Big.

Cranky is a huge understatement for my mood, today in particular. So you are definitely not alone. I could bite the head off a bunny rabbit right now if it looked at me cross-eyed.

On a happier (?) note, I really must have one of those T-shirts. In fact, I am going to request that statement be put on my tombstone. That plus: she's finally getting some sleep.

I am going to work on my assignment you gave me later today after I pull myself out of my FOUL MOOD!

Annie: Thank you;)
CBW: I swear I would be right down there helping you if I could...and my friend Jules gave me that shirt. It's my all-time favorite!

Wow! I am so glad that I read your blog today. I was sitting here feeling cranky and wondering if I was the only one who felt this way for no reason at all. Now I can see from your comments that we are just one big happy family of cranky people! Yeah!

Funny we were both thinking elementary today...yep this time of the summer starts getting to me too...it is so HOT you melt the skin right of your thighs every time you slip into the car, it is only weather rattlesnakes and lizards enjoy...I'm only leaving shelter for supplies and most everyone has stepped on my last nerve...yep...I'm soundin' CRANKY! Can I join your CRANKS-R-US party?

Great t-shirt. Yes, it's the time of year. And you're not really out of wine, right? Because that would do it and run to the store already!

I have no idea what this cranky is your speaking of...LMAO

ME, TOO. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I think it's the heat. And the fact that I totally bought that Countrytime Lemonade commercial, with the tire swing and the living is easy during the summer. Only . . . not so much. It's as busy as ever.

Asthmagirl had a delicious Canadian Cider last night (Customs was nice enough to allow me to bring a case home) and then took a nap. All is now right with her world.

She hopes that Mama will de-crank in the near future. Is there anything she can do to help? How about some lovely tarragon potato salad (on the menu for tonight with grilled porkchops!)?

if'n I knew the answer to your burning question those darn bulbs would be blooming every year.... they sprout up green and pretty but no flowers ever again... only in 88 they came up this year right on schedule... shrug... I so wish I knew!

Ok, I feel bad, because I AM NOT CRANKY. I get the grandkids today and I have been missing them a lot, I am still retired, I slept in till 10:00 after staying up till 2:00 a.m. and I am thinking about going and having a glass of chocolate milk. Yum yum. I am not on a diet, (need to but who cares!) might go to the movies with my grandson, and I don't care the house is dirty. Sorry you all are cranky, maybe mine is coming up next week??? So with all my happiness I am sure it will help your mood...If I live through you reading this. bye, better run, and dodge the things you are throwing at me, and plug my ears from the things you are screaming at me...oh, was THAT one really necessary??? Ok ok , I'm gone.

i've been in that same kind of mood... instead of he ides of march or the dog days of summer, someone needs a saying for the crankiness in july!

Oh my dear a little Chardonnay should help...oh yes your beloved Chardonnay...go do some retail therapy...that always helps too.

...Oh girl, I feel your pain. I don't have kids but I do get cranky nonetheless and it's happenin' right now. I think seriously that the planets are out of alignment or my third moon has left the galaxy or something like that... :o)

...Blessings for a less cranky tomorrow and more wine...lol ;o)

I bet you are right, something BIG really will happen!

In the meantime, sell me one of those shirts pictured in your post and use the money to go to a movie or something. :-) Actually, a movie may not be the thing for you but maybe just some kind of change of pace would do the trick.

Another thing I do when in a crappy mood is write in my paper journal...sometimes I whine, sometimes I cuss, sometimes I just right "shit, shit, shit!" in big letters....its all very therapeutic!

HAD you tagged me, I am certain that Checkered would have told you that I am excellent at cranky. Professional, in fact. Don't even try to compete.

I LOVE that shirt and get the cranks far too often.

Meet you at drink-thirty - let's drown our crankiness and wine.

Mental P, I found you from Foolery's place. I like your blog. I have to read more. I just wanted to say that it's weird but today a lot of people have been cranky, or so I've noticed. Maybe it's a moon phase thing. I drink small amounts of whiskey when I feel cranky. I'm not much of a wine person. I was fed shot gun powder as a child. It's not so right, but it's not so wrong. At least it's not sour mash.
Glad to meet (blog) you

Love the t-shirt. Though I've banned the crankies. Maybe it's a hormonal thing with me. LIke no more.
