Blessed

My babies are home!
My babies are home!
This shot was taken at a UVa football game last month.
Augie went to visit his big sister.
She is 20 minutes older, that is why she is the big sister.
I shamelessly stole borrowed this picture from The Bird's Facebook page.

Mental P Mama's Easy Pecan Pie
3 T melted butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 t vanilla
3 eggs
1 cup white corn syrup
1/4 t salt
1 cup chopped pecans
1 9" unbaked pie shell
Beat eggs and stir in all other ingredients.
Bake for 10 minutes at 450〫
Reduce heat to 350〫and bake approx. 35 minutes more.
Heavenly warm or at room temp!

I like to use the premade crusts at this busy time of year. I think they are super. Do you use them, or do you make your own pastry all the time? Lazy Mama wants to know!

Be well, my friends.

Bet you'll enjoy this year more than you ever have. Savor every morsel...of your Augie and Bird's company. (Bet you thought I was gonna say every morsel of that pecan pie;-)

Enjoy your time with the babies!

My mom would love me so much more if I made that pie for her!

Great photo....love the tie for a football game!

I struggled to make crust for years until my aunt (who was the best cook in the world!) told me she used Pillsbury All Ready Pie Crust. Looks home made and tastes it too. Have not made crust from scratch since!

Enjoy!

Make my own - however, the day is coming.

Enjoy your holiday!

Enjoy Mama with babies being home. Oldest son will be home in 22 days and I CAN NOT WAIT.

Augie's got that UVa look down pat should he ever decide to transfer.

I either use pre-made or store bought depending on what kind of mood I'm in, but the Pillsbury ones rock.

The hubby makes my pastry :-) NEVER admit you can do anything if someone else is willing to do it for you.
Enjoy your family, I was genuinely happy to see this post and that your nest is full. Happy Tday weekend, MPM!! Elbow someone for me Friday, ok?

What a great picture of them. Have a wonderful time together.

Regarding pies, the last one I had said Hostess on the packet and it was 4 for a dollar, and that's as close as I've ever come to baking a pie, even though no baking was involved.

Regarding those collonades (sp) in the background, I have a story about that area of the stadium better left for another time. It involves slipping down a hill (on the other side of the fence) and not a lot of common sense. I blame the lack of stalls in the women's bathroom. That's all I'm saying.

I use the pie crust mix in the box. I love rolling it. For some reason.

Yay! They're home! Hope you get Augie to stay for a few hours at least!

Wow! How is it that they both suddenly look so much more mature? Oh yeah. College, lol.

That sounds like the easiest recipe ever!

Enjoy your babies!!!

Enjoy your babies, the family, the love, and the food.
Your pie recipe looks amazing but if I made it, I would eat the whole thing, well, not really, but I'd have finished most of it...and then be sick...but happy!

Awe, MPM, they are so adorable, and I love the fact that they love each other so much. It must have something to do with the wonderful mother who raised them!

I wish I had that pecan pie recipe sooner...I never knew how easy it was to make pecan pie. Here in Texas pecan trees are everywhere!!

And...yes I use the premade pie crust. I use Pillsbury...the one that you have to unroll..I roll it out a bit thinner, but they taste so good, don't they?

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!

Yeah I use ready to go pie crust. The red box that you unroll. I flour it on both sides and crimp the edges-- nobody ever knows...until now GAH!!!

Those beautiful kids belong to you?!!
Yep thankful for sure! I am thankful for you. And now I better go get some pies made.

Happy Thanksgiving
