Saturday Night

After months of planning...
Months of running around and begging asking for auction items...
Months of fretting over caterers...
Months of courting Paul Simon...
We had our Hospital Gala last night.
It started at 6:30.
At 5:15, we were put under a tornado warning.
And then?
It rained.
And rained.
And rained.
And then?
The carpets in our tent bubbled up.
And then there were rivers.
Inside the tents.
And then?
Servepro came in and started wet-vacing the entire place.
In between the auction tables and revelers.
And all was well.
And we ate.
And we danced.
And Paul brought down the house.
The end.

Wow, what a story. Sounds like all your hard work paid off. Tornado warnings and torrential downpours tells me there were quite a few urgent, emergency phone calls to Wine One One.

Did you get any shots of Paul?

Does this mean you want to orchestrate the next Blog Fest? Can you get Harry Connick, Jr., by any chance?

Hope you raised a lot of money! Is there somewhere inside that it could have been held? Ok. I'm sure that was a dumb question.

Oh very cool.. I'd love to see photos too. I've met Paul Simon too. Well really it was just his and Art's Old Friends concert about 5 or 6 years ago.. and we were way the hell near the back of the place.. but all was groovy! ;)

You crack me up. You are such a wonderful person to see all the postive in things. I so love reading your stories and being inspired to not let things get me down. And yet I know you have to have a few down moments, you seem to pick yourself up and move on. So how is the job hunting going? Let me know if you decide to write a book....I want one of the first copies....signed my YOU.!
