Parents' Weekend Photos

I had a wonderful trip to see The Baby Bird last weekend.
The University of Virginia is a beautiful school.
And I don't think she was embarrassed by her heinous mother even once.
I would love nothing more than to share all the pictures I took.
So, I think I will:
And here is another angle:
The end.
Those are the only pictures I took the whole weekend.
With my iPhone.
I wasn't allowed to take my camera out of the case.
The Bird escaped the abject horror of a parent snapping pictures...
And Mama?
Well, isn't this bike cool?
Such creativity.
Hey, I'll take what I can get.
And be fully content.
I wish you all a weekend full of contentment.

This is funny. I came here to see pictures of Parent's Weekend at UVa and see a mermaid bike. Pretty cool, too!

That took a lot of work! And it's really neat.

What a compliant mother you are. You didn't even bring the nanny cam...

This creative artist must miss her beach. I like it.

Glad you were able to take a picture, and have Baby Bird time. I want to be where those shells came from. With a bike.

Kids today have too many rules, wait until you have grandchildren!

I looked at this and said ouch! If this was my bike, I would have scars on my legs!
Sad that there are not any more photos. :( Bad Bird!!!

Well, I can honestly say I've never seen one of those before. What would you call that, a biseacle?

Too bad you didn't get any shots of the Rotunda and the lawn - I'll bet the leaves were gorgeous.

Stopping by to catch up, and I'm just SICK over the loss of your beloved Noelle:(

I'm feeling your pain about the fat jeans being snug.

Don't worry about the missed photo ops at UVA.....there will be PLENTY at Oyster Festival:)

That bike is... Wow, just wow!

I went to open mic night at my kids school last night. I took my camera, but didn't take it out of my bag. I didn't want to be That Mom. If one of my kids were performing I would have, but taking pictures of other kids seemed weird. There is some amazing talent at that school.

I'm happy for moms everywhere that you didn't embarrass the bird. It's such a relief!

Oh where are all those embarassing family shots??

Could be a bit painful if you fell off the bike seat nd landed on the shells. Ouch.

that is so cool! yeah contentment is something we learn how to do isn't it?

And I was looking forward to pics of UVA...... but I can relate to the "put the camera away mom" scenario.

The bike was really cool though !

Yes - divine bicycle!

Very cool. I like that it's kinda half way done. Like they started to do it and then were like "Oh, that's enough right there." So my level of commitment.

Oh, and glad you had fun :)

I'm not allowed to take pictures around my youngest, either. I love the bike! A very creative way to keep your bike from being stolen! We lost a couple over the college years.

Hope no one got hurt on that bike, looks like it would be painful if someone slipped.

I so admire your restraint vis-a-vis camera and the various Kodak moments that pleaded to be immortalized on film.

You are a v. good mama, Mama.

You have a great weekend too!!!

I'm SO disappointed you didn't embarrass her even once. I never had to work hard at it. It just came naturally. Daughter was ALWAYS embarrassed by one thing or another that I did. So, I guess it's just me then. Ok. Fine.

Ok. YOU are the parent. YOU tell the baby bird that YOU will take photos. There's a whole blogging world depending on you.

Advice from someone who obviously will never be nominated for Mom of the Year.

(the bike is really neat)

how funny is that....daughters can be a little picky about Mom's visiting the campus....when my daughter was in college me and the husband were having dinner in the big dining hall...husband went to leave to do something and he went out an emergancy exit causing the alarms to go off....now here is a (at the time a 240 pound man) in a college varsity jacket sounding the loudest alarm you ever heard.....daughter, well she was humiliated.....he was banned from campus until graduation.

Ha, ha! Love it!

Cool !!!! But at least you got to see her and spend some time. Who needs the pictures? You have the memories and the real thing. (yes, I would love to have seen more but it is ok! Love you anyways!!!)

Stop it right this second! How could anyone be embarrassed about you!? I think she will let you take pictures as she gets older. You know, when you are a freshman you have a cool image to keep, but when you are a Senior you are SO glad to see your Mama! College was so fun! I am glad Baby Bird is happy as a lark : )

We must work on that no photo ruling!!

That's so not fair! You need a photo compromise.
