My packrat brother is cleaning out his garage this morning.
That is big news, mostly, for his poor wife.
This, however, was my alarm clock/stereo for pretty much the 60's and the 70's.
I have no idea how it got from Tennessee to a garage in Connecticut.
But you have to admit...the sound is pretty good.
Farewell, my dear radio. Again.

Impressive that the radio still works! It sounds good!
Also impressive is that your brother actually took video of it for you!
the oldies sure do out last the ones now a days! i can't believe someone kept it for so long-yeah his wife will have a happy day today getting dejunked!
Now that's sweet... capturing it on video forever for you. And your brother's got a voice for radio. (an appropriate sister response would be that he's got the face for it too). ;)
All this cleaning out must be so his new shiny car wont get scratched or dinged ..
What a wonderful memory .. and they don't make 'em like they used to ...
Sounds like your brother's spiffin' up the place for his new car. Heartening to know that the radio still sounds good, too!
Don't say farewell - rescue it and bring it back its rightful home.
The sentence above was written by a certified, certifiable packrat whose basement and garage overfloweth with crap.
It does still sound great. Perhaps some older person in the neighborhood would love to have it, just for the radio part. Apparently when you no longer wanted it, your brother must have thought it still had a lot of life left in it, but it ended up stuck in his garage. Hey, perhaps he went out there in his spare time and played the radio, while working around in the garage.
Good idea...give it to an older person. Perhaps someone in a nursing home.
This cleaning this is reaching epidemic proportions! EVERYone seems to be doing it. And I should be.
awh shucks have em mail it to you!
I'm actually still using mine while trying to squeeze out a few more years of life, LOL!
Groovy!!
Awwwwww.
gotta love the memories...
Are you sure you don't want to keep that little TREASURE? : )
What has been around comes around? Patty and I bought one of the first transistor radios made and we still got it and it still works. A Zenith with FM. Stereo it ain't.
How sweet that he kept that for you all these years....you should take it back to your house. It is probably worth something now that it is an antique!!! But seriously, that sound is surprisingly good.
We hang on, hoping one day they'll be worth something. I have a turntable in the attic. Why?
Once you have a photo....trash.
Shouldn't it go to an antique store?! ;)
Ah, the hours you must have listened to it! (I wonder how it did get across country...or why??).
:)
So did it still work or it was just being saved for the parts? ;)
Wow... I had one where the numbers audibly flipped. It used to wake me up!
I love yours!
You're not getting rid of it, are you? It's great!
I loved that song!! Was nice of him to video it for you!
You can't throw that out!!
GAH your brother sounds like my Cdub. I know how you SIL feels!
