Dawg Days of August

I have validation:

Today's Aquarius Horoscope:
Aug 25, 2009

You may be feeling a bit sluggish today, dear Aquarius. Your warrior instinct would rather just stay home on the couch than get up and fight. This is fine. More than likely, you may simply need a break from your quest for world domination. Remember that a good leader also takes the time to sit back and reflect on recent events so that he or she can make better plans for the future.

get yours here

**Thank you all for your good wishes on my interview yesterday...it is a very part time position that has potential to grow. I'll keep you posted. In the meantime, I am starting to enjoy the quietness of this place. And today, I am going to the grocery store to shop for two. I have no idea what to get. But I do know one thing for sure--it will be a lot less!

Shopping for two is completely different experience, believe me! You will save lots of money by no longer having to stock all the snack foods required to keep that 6'2" eating machine in business. Did you warn Villanova, btw?

I love your horoscope; I wish mine would tell me it's okay to sit on the couch. All mine ever says is that I should work harder. But I don't believe in astrology so I just sit on the couch anyway. HA!

Whatever you buy at the grocery store...be sure to include something CReamy, and then maybe something with some CRunch. Aw, yeah, baby! (Oopsies...switched into Emeril mode there.)

The job is yours if you want it; I just know it. It's all part of the world domination thing. :)

You're making the empty nest sound mighty attractive, lady.

The old chinese proverb: q: how will I like this new city I just moved to? a: How did you like the old one? q: I liked/didn't like the old one. a: then you'll like/not like this one.

Loving life...it carries over.

Sluggish ... umm ... I slept so well I feel good this morning .. sssh .. back issues seem, I stress the word 'seem' to be on the mend.

Buy all those foods the kidlettes never liked but you do ...

I've always found it harder to shop for fewer. It does take some getting used to.

I do hope you get the job!

Shopping and cooking for 2 is a whole other beast! One thing that has improved - companies have learned that there are households with only a couple of people in them and those households still need to eat and have started packaging items geared toward that market:)

I've been cooking for 2 for a long time, but still haven't figured out how to make a 'small' pot of spaghetti! Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated!

Sounds like you need a little downtime.

Also, kudos on the interview! Please keep us posted.

Have fun exploring all the fun parts about being a two person household!! The good thing is you will have reminders of what it's like to have them back home soon enough!

Welcome to Life In The Second Half where an empty nest means endless possibilities. :-)

Go small on the milk. Buy one onion at a time. BOGO deals just won't have as much meaning. This could be good!

Shopping for two - that sounds like a code word for making reservations.

Oh, I remember when we first started shopping for two. It's different, isn't it? Maybe you and Squazz will grow closer? This could be romantic.

This Aquarian is screaming into her pillow these days, maybe it's my moon in Virgo that's raging!

Mama is sounding okay! :)

Cooking less means eating less you know? I don't even bother cooking for ONE.

I love our horoscope today..oh, I'm late aren't I? I didn't sit on the couch Monday. Oh, crap it's Wednesday. I think I'll sit today.

Do I sound crazy? I think I am.

My 6- and 8-year-olds won't leave the nest no matter how many times I lock the door. ; )

And every week all the money you save on groceries needs to go into that Mathews Brick House Fund.

with all that money you will save on food.....you can take more vacations...right? Don't count on it ok? They still are soooo demanding even in college!
