Thanks Everyone!

After all the kind advice and encouragement I've received from you all today, I've been able to complete my desk clearing project.  Seriously.  And I actually found some books that I ordered from Amazon.  They came three weeks ago.

Has anyone read any of these?

We won't discuss where everything went, or what a certain corner of my bedroom looks like now that my office is so beautiful.  Nor will we discuss the state of the drawers in the bathroom.  I am ashamed to say that Squazz has one half of a drawer and maybe a third of a shelf.  The rest of that real estate is mine.  It isn't pretty, but I'll think about that another day.

By the way, what is is with all those wine comments?

Nice work. I knew you could do it. As for the wine comments; I noted the same thing. Perhaps you should talk up the Crystal Light thing for a while.
Still, wine is SO much better than whine!

I haven't read any of those but I would like reading the Chelesa Hadley's book. She is crazy funny. As for Twilight, I was going to get that book, but I read it was part of a series and well, I have books backed up the yang yang to read!
Do tell us what you think of them.

I loved "Twilight" (it's great chick lit- and you'll never think of the name Edward the same way ever again!), but don't read the sequels; they ruined the story!

The other two, no idea...

Haven't read any of them.
You read them and then give a book report on each and then I'll decide whether to get them.

Oops sorry about the wine comment but unfortunately you seem to have a reputation here in the blogosphere.

If the comments really bother you, get a larger glass of wine.

I have Twilight to read and haven't heard of the other one.

I've read THE SHACK and will be interested on your "take" - so many have so much to say about it.

Here's what my pastor wrote about it: http://www.dawsonchurch.org/ - scroll down right side to "Pastor's Blog". I was a bit taken aback by his view of the Baby Boomer generation.

But don't let that stop you reading the book. I enjoyed it, felt much better about forgiveness and how difficult it is "explain"when bad things happen....that apparently was what I needed at the time I read the book.

Enjoy - and then let us know?
(I'd really like to lie on the dock looking up at the stars with Jesus myself...)

Congrats on the clean desk! I think. It makes me very jealous though.

I've heard a lot about Twilight and I've thought about buying it. Does that count?

I don't have those books. I think that my books may have gotten thrown under things and I can't find them. Or maybe I chewed the covers off of them. Well, good luck on the organizing Mental P Mama.

See, my shoe suggestion worked.

Why does it feel so good after the purge when you have your stomach in knots before it?

I so want the vodka book. I may have to visit Amazon.

I love coming here.

Look at you go, girl!! This must be extremely satisfying.

I have tried in vain to finish up the Chelsea Handler book. I find her mildly amusing, but I came to a part where she was really quite mean, and I've lost motivation to finish.

Plus, once I read David Sedaris, I was spoiled for anyone else.

Hey, I am so impressed with your progress. And as a reward, you will get to read "Twilight"!!! I LOVED that book. Really, I held off for a long time. I, too, am not a big fan of vampires; I mean, back in the day, a little hickey here and there was okay but vampiring? No. BWAHA! Finally, curiosity got the best of me. I loved it; don't know exactly why, but it was so good!

Where's the pic of the clean desk? :)

I'll give it 2 weeks....maybe that should be 2 days....hmmmmm.

Read The Shack - very interesting take on the whole religion thing. I really did enjoy it!

I started reading Twilight last night. We'll have to compare notes.

Twilight... yep, then I had to run out and buy 2,3, and 4. Read them all in six days. I'd like to say I lost weight during that week, but somehow it just didn't happen.
Lots of people hated the sequels, I didn't get as upset as they did, I just took it as it came.

2 of my kids went nuts over the Twilight series, and they don't normally read vampire stories.

That said, the title alone of, "Are You There Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea," cracks me up. Hope it doesn't turn out to be a surprise downer in disguise.
