Beach Reading

I know you are waiting with baited breath to hear all about my little junket.  Miss K's business trip was a lot of fun.  For me.  I may eventually spill it, but just know this: I have never seen so much rain and mist in South Florida.  Ever.  In my life.

So, I did a lot of reading during my waking hours....

First, Twilight.  I love this book.  I cannot wait for the movie, and I'm going to get the next three in the series.  Any other freaks like me out there?  Hello,  Edward?
Next, The Shack.  I was both bewildered and enthralled by this book.  Are there any study groups out there to explain it all to me?
More of my waking hours were spent having a cocktail or two.  Hey, it was South Beach.  Wouldn't you?
Now, I'll just be in my laundry room.  And the grocery store.

Sounds exciting. No, really! I've been reading old books I've found in the library here.

I LOVED Twilight, and will be lurking around outside the theater for the very first midnight showing, with all the little 14-year-old girls :). I've just bought the rest of the books, but haven't read them yet. Too busy with my Psychology class, trying to figure out why I like most things that adolescent girls like. BWAHA!

Was that a very large martini in that gallon jug? If so? YOU ROCK!

I can't believe you read two books in such a short period of time. The only books I read have "blogger.com" in the title.

I've not read Edward yet. I'm considering it...

I'm glad you had a relaxing time in Miami!

I loved the photos, as I have never been there...

I started reading Twilight late afternoon last Sunday (a week from yesterday). I finished Twilight Monday night...started and completed New Moon in two days...started and completed Eclipse in two days. I began reading the 4th and final book yesterday. Each book in the series gets better and better! I'll be first in line when the movie releases on Nov. 21st. I work full-time, so I read in the evenings. Once I begin reading a book, I devour it. Maybe I have a little of the Cullens in me ;)

Several people have told me that I need to read "The Shack" - I plan to pick it up this week. We'll start our own blogger book club to figure it out! Of course, I still need to finish reading "Robinson Crusoe", but I'm close to the end of that old favorite:)

I read Twilight, then picked up the next one and the next and the last one. I think I read all four in a week and a half.

I'm looking forward to the movie. I think Carlisle Cullen was my favorite character.

Must say, though, I didn't much like the final book in the series.

I've also heard that The Shack is tough to decipher. I'd like to hear more of your thoughts on it.

I originally picked up The Shack because it takes place at Wallowa Lake in Oregon which is where my sisters and I have taken vacations and I grew up in that end of Oregon. I have to say it was a little difficult at times because many of the questions of why bad things happen to good people (i.e. my daughter) were foremost in my mind. However, I think people can take what they will from it. My very favorite part of the book is when he is cleaning up his soul in the garden. This made me cry. I also liked how he explained the trinity, especially the holy spirit.

But just my own thoughts.

LOVE Twilight but have to wonder .. on one hand hot 'young' Edward is over 100 yrs old ... and Bella is 15 ..

I have book #2 at the ready, I should put #1 on the BookSwapper site ...

I read the Twilight series. It was surprisingly good. I didn't think it was something I liked at all, and ended up reading the whole series. Twilight, the first book, was my favorite. Have you seen the movie trailers?
