This 'n That Thursday

Settling in as a new redneck:
  • I am 99.9% sure that Dora and I encountered a mountain lion last week.
  • There is also a bobcat nearby.
  • And a pack of coyotes.
  • The sharks at Cape Cod are starting to look downright benevolent.
  • I am seriously thinking about getting a pistol.
  • And a cute holster.
  • Dora hates thunder storms.
  • A woman told me I had an accent the other day.
  • That's funny, because I always had an accent while I live in Connecticut.
  • All of this has made me feel a little discombobulated.
  • But not as much as cheering for the Giants around here.
  • The job interview last week was not for me.
  • I hope to do some serious networking soon.  With a heavy accent.  Of some sort.
  • We had a storm last night that scared even me.  Dora was on my lap the whole time.
  • Tonight, my nephew has a Thursday Night Lights game.  On TV.  I'm going.  It will be 90 degrees at kickoff. Go BGA!
  • And the opposing team has an amazing band and dancers.  I'll bring my camera.
  • I love it here.

I am happy you love it there. I have a small pistol, it gives me comfort. It is still hotter than hades here too, cold front on the way today~Supposedly. Good luck to your nephew and the team tonight.

Good Morning!

Time for that conceal-carry permit!

My Dad grew up in NY. Living in TN, he has always been told he talks funny. Now when he goes home to NY after living in TN for 50 years, he is told that he talks funny. We have determined that he just talks funny :)

At tonight's game, look for a referee that is about 6'7" with silver hair and a big belly. That is Pita and AB's grandfather!

Ah, you ought to really love it more when fall arrives! Be careful of those mountain lions - EEeek! Yes, a pistol would do nicely.

It's fun reading some southern blogging. I'm sure the CT people miss you, but I'm glad that you are happy at "home."

Re: serious networking, are you on linked in? It's how networking is happening these days. Re: accents, I grew up in Boston, moved to NYC, then Nebraska and then California- I was ALWAYS told I had an accent. Until I went back to Boston and was told I had lost my accent!

Mountain lions, coyotes and bobcats--oh my!

Wait. Are there any male dancers with that band?

I'm so happy that you're happy!

We've had bobcats on the golf course lately, but since they don't bother the golfers, the club isn't going to do anything about them. WTH?

I know what scary storms feel like. Not. Good.

Wait. Sharks? Really? (me screaming)

Hope your nephew's team won their game...

Dislike wild animals and have image of you in boots with pistol, holster and a cowboy hat!!

My Maggie used to almost stroke out with storms. You get them and then the mountains calm them down before they get here.

I'm so glad you are settling in and hope it gets better and better :)

I am so glad to hear you love it. With all the wildlife, you and Dora both need a pistol, I think! :-) You know, if you don't like black pistols--they come in pink. All I have to is go to the sherriff's departmen and get fingerprinted for my concealeded permit--I dd the test online---but I keep putting that part off! Maybe this week---we have coyotes around here, too. :(
