This-n-That Thursday

Things I don't care about:
  • Tiger Woods' private life.
  • What club Tiger's wife may or may not have used to beat the tar out of him.
  • How much money tabloids pay people to dish.
  • Gloria Allred.
  • The terms of the Woods' pre-nuptual agreement.
Things I DO care about:
  • All our sons and daughters fighting wars on the other side of this planet.
  • All those who are unemployed or underemployed.
  • All the want and hunger in this country.
  • Finding a cure for cancer.
  • The health and well-being of all those I hold dear.
You?

I like Tiger Woods as well as the next person who couldn't care less about golf. Let the man and his family, whatever their situation be.

I care about our men and women serving, about the lost-looking dog I saw wandering around downtown this morning, about a friend whose recently lost a job, about family, about lots of things.

But not so much about Tiger Woods' personal life.

AMEN to your post as well.....seriously to Tiger Woods...and yes next time use a bigger club...and yes to our loved ones in the armed services...our next door neighbors son was in a road side bomb last weekend in Aphaganistan {sp}...he is injured but alive thankfully....so many of us sure get our care and shouldn't cares mixed up...I know I do and forget what is truly important....I liked your this and that today....

I am so over 'celebrity' gossip and Faux News coverage of same .. Jon Stewart did a very funny albeit scary segment on Faux news coverage of both the 'White House' crashers and Mr Woods marital issues or non issues.

I too would prefer we see more of the real news .. like coverage of those killed in action coming home to the honor guard they deserve ... reminders of how bad things are in the economy vs Jr Gotti's day home after being incarcerated for 15 mos. and the wasted $$ prosecuting him w/o ever convicting him. How come we dont go after Cheney, Rumsfeld and Rove for their criminal activities? At least in that case there's real proof.

GAH

Sorry .. I just couldnt stop

I could not have said it better. Leave people alone to deal with their own demons....it is none of our business. The things you do care about are far more important!

Awesome post Mama!
I am sick of war! Enough already.
I care about the homeless, food banks, children and adults who cannot read. Maybe Tiger Woods could help me out with some of this stuff.

I don't care about the media and their take on things.
I do care about feeding hungry families. Tiger....Hunger.....Tiger...Hunger. No contest.

Amen Sista! You certainly covered my cares. I wish they would just leave Tiger alone. How are they ever going to heal their relationship if the press & the public won't leave them alone? No wonder celebs get divorced so often.

There are a lot bigger issues out there than some celebrity & his wife having marital problems. Too bad no one is covering the important matters...

If any of you would like to watch/experience (because it truly is that) an amazing movie, take the time and make the effort to see "Taking Chance". It was an HBO movie, true story that has not been glamorized for Hollywood. Made me feel good about people for once, and realize that more people know how to act properly, respectfully etc, than I thought. Just thought I would mention it after a few of you had commented on those serving our country. (Came over to visit from CBW's blog! HI!)

With the exception of the weather, I have pretty much stopped watching the news. It only makes me angry. Between the Balloon Boy, John & Kate, The White House Crashers, and Tiger Woods, I'm ready to gouge my eyes out! What about the family up the road from me that has no heat? What about the other family in my 'hood that has no food to put on the table because Dad just lost his job? I live in one of the poorest counties in the Commonwealth. I see heartbreaking things daily. Why on earth would I care about some rich golfer who "made a mistake", or about those other fools who are capitalizing on their own stupidity???

**steps off of soapbox**

I'm not much on the Tiger thing although the news seems to be everywhere.

I'm all about helping folks with disabilities, worrying about those serving overseas, contributing to my local food bank and smothering those close to me with love and xmas cookies.

Oh, and I like coffee too!

I care about all the same things as you and am sick of all the Tiger Woods' gossip going on.

Things I care about: Love, in all the possible senses of the word.

Things I don't care about: Everything else.

Walter Cronkite would be spinning in his grave if he knew what constituted so-called news these days. Faux news will be the demise of this country.

good points my dear.
unfortunately main stream news-gossip trumps real news...hunger and unemployment are not flashy enough.

thinking to myself...if all it takes to make a mint, maybe we are all in the wrong profession...lol :)

now there is no way i would go down the path but, i just had to put it out there.

hugs from middle virginia :)

Ditto! I am actually not interested in any celebrity and their personal life. I enjoy watching the movies they crank out but the crap can stay crap with them.
