Tuesday Text

After Thanksgiving, The Bird went back to Virginia in a horrible storm.
I was sick with worry the whole flight time.
I was watching the status online, and it disappeared.
Yes, disappeared.
But I recovered.
I think.
How much does one tip a cab?

That would unerve me too. Glad all was OK. I would go the 10% route.

Ack... driving through that.. I'd tip a lot. I'd want to tip that pilot too. I'm glad your baby was safe and sound.

Have I mentioned how much I HATE flying? Um, yeah...hate tipping too. Can't help you out there.

If anyone in this area ever took a cab anywhere, I might know the tip rule. It would seem that I am lacking in knowledge.

I have no clue. The only public transportation we have in our neck of the woods is a neighbor who stops to rescue you when you have a flat!!!

A cab? I've only ridden in one once. In Destin, FL. My Mom and I walked too far on the beach and had to take a cab back to the campground, where hubby paid!!

I'm thankful Bird made it back!! Christmas will be here soon :)

Don't ask me. The first time I was ever in a cab was when I was in the city with you, Annie & Daryl this year.
Matt was on a flight like that, heading back to C'ville once. He said everyone was using the barf bags and it stunk, making more people use them. Sorry for the mental picture there.

Split the difference: 15%.

I normally do not tip cabs more than an extra dollar, maybe two if they made me laugh or something. I had a flight similr to that, one time from Norfolk to Roanoke, in a small jump prop plane, there was an air force pilot, two nuns, and me. I was sure I was going to die.

Glad she made it back safely.

Heck if I know - I live in no-cab-land!
We are considering a move to CT - must chat.
email me your email?

No matter the age or our kids, they still worry us. My Mother always wants me to call her when I get home so she'll know I arrived safely. We live a little over 20 miles from each other. But the last two times I have visited, I've had to drive home after dark alone.

You have a child and the only guarantee in your life from that point on is you will worry. Every. Single. Day. For the rest of your life.

Oh, and 15%.

If my cab driver takes the long way, it comes out of his tip. Anyway that's my rule. I'm so glad she made it back to VA safely.

I dunno. I never take a cab.

Here in NYC standard tip is $1-2 dollars ... unless you go to the airport, then its $5 plus tolls.

Love Tuesday Texts!

You never stop worrying about them. I actually prefer not to know when they are going anyplace. We don't got no cabs out here in the wilderness, so I can't help with that :)

It's been so long since I've been in a taxi that I don't remember.

I feel your pain about the worry. SD drove back out to California (alone) after she came home to get a new (used) car we'd gotten her. I was a mess until she called...

The waiting must have been terrifying!

Thank goodness we can watch their flights sometimes. Southwest doesn't have that and that is the airline we use the most - so I just hang out waiting to see it say "landed". Then the sigh of relief.

My husband usually used Carrie Cars and it's included in their charge. I have no idea!

The only public transportation around here is Bay Transit, and that involves senior citizens and oversized vans and I'm pretty sure no tipping is involved.

However, I always err on the side of tipping more rather than less, but that's because I don't get out much.

That had to have been one helluva nerve wracking period of time. Can't even imagine, but my day will come soon.
