This-n-That Thursday: Holiday Style

Twas the week before Christmas,
And all through the blogosphere land,
Mental P's friends were bragging cheering,
Because they had everything in hand.

And yet Mental P. sat, day after day,
In her baggy sweatpants,
Just itching away.

The children were returning,
From their first college foray.
They were excited to have,
Their traditional holiday.

And yet Mental P. sat, day after day,
In her baggy sweatpants,
Just itching away.

And in the cold break of dawn,
The seventeenth of December,
Mental P. woke with a yawn.
And began to remember.

Today is the deadline,
For her list crafted with care.
So Mental P. will be scurrying,
Everywhere and on a tear.

And by the time Metal P. sits down tonight?
She will deserve that bucket glass of wine...
She might not look or smell just right,
But she will have salvaged Christmas 2009.

To do today:
Get asthma shots
Do Christmas cards
Bake a rum cake for Squazz
Make chicken soup for Augie
Get acupuncture treatment for eczema
An indoor tree?
Last day for online shopping--must start shopping
Get groceries for hungry college students
Go get Augie at the train.
Finish shopping
Wrap presents
Go to CVS when there is no wrapping paper

What's on your list?
Does anyone want to come help?

I would love to come and help....however, I have quite a list myself and two hours this evening to accomplish all of it! This is my time while JBM and Flyboy are at hockey! I wish you luck with your day....hope it is successful in every way.

Whew, that's quite the list. I"d skip most of it and jump straight into the wine. Good luck!

Ah, darlin', one thing at a time, no matter how much you feel like multi-tasking. That's the secret to actually getting it all done. That's what I do, anyway, and it somehow gets done, so...

Thanks so much for the kind words over at my place! Much appreciated.

I am dying with ya MPM! I only got my tree yesterday! Since I have been told by PR he would get the decorations from the attic 5 or 6 days ago, I suppose I will be attic hunting today. Oh, and baking cookies (made the dough yesterday)...I am so not going to add my list. Let's just say you are about 12 steps ahead of me!

I am cheering for you!

xo, Mango

p.s. I am with Chesapeake Bay Woman

If I lived closer, I swear I would help you after I got done work.

Your kids will deal. I used to throw myself into a tizzy before M would come home from school and then realized that he never even noticed anyway. When he was actually home, that is!!!

Oh my! What a list you have! Hubby and I are having a quiet Christmas this year so my list isn't quite that long but I have been procrastinating too.

Good luck and enjoy those college kiddos!

My list was short this year as far as gifts go. I still have to make a trip to The Wal-Marts this weekend for grocery shopping and a few last minute needs (wine for the whining - aka me).

In my mind, my list doesn't sound too bad until I really think about it and the list grows and grows.

So I try not to think about it. :-)

Ya'll have a great time!

You are busier than me. Take two buckets of wine and call me in the morning!

I'm here for ya! I make a mean cream of chicken soup, which is really like a chicken stew. And when all else fails, apply some anti-itch cream.

I'm so helpful, aren't I?

And another thing, once they hit college, besides their favorite food, all they really want is money.
