This-n-That Thursday

Randomness from an addled little brain:
  • I am lacking "transitional" clothing in my closet. What to wear when it's in the 60's and humid. In November?
  • I am hopelessly dependent on my reading glasses.
  • Augie and I are running a half marathon on January 7. We are horrifically underprepared as of now.
  • Can someone explain Rick Perry to me?
  • Can someone explain why anyone would want to be the POTUS?
  • The Bird and I went to a beautiful wedding in September, and the resident dog was named POTUS. His humans are both attorneys in DC. Isn't that clever?
  • We had a police chase in Westport yesterday. No one was hurt, but a Bentley got clipped. Oh, and they finally caught the guy--a really bad guy.
  • Seriously. I have nothing to wear to work today. It's so hot out there. And I am still seeing piles of snow from our little Halloween "dusting."
  • Does arthritis pain wake you up at night? My right hip does.
  • I cannot get enough ricotta cheese. It really is an odd thing.
  • I'm getting my hair done tomorrow. It is way overdue.
  • I guess I need to get going. I seriously don't know what I'm gonna wear today.
UPDATE 8:52: I have decided on black pants and a nice gauzy blue tunic that The Baby Bird brought me from Morocco! Now, carry on.....

Transitional clothing is always a challenge. Layers is the only answer I've found that works.

Half marathon? You rock!

Ricotta cheese? Really? That's great. I wish I liked it any other way besides baked into a garlicy, cheesy lasagne.

You. are. funny.

The photos are beautiful...

Hair done about two weeks ago..I'm always overdue like you :)

Rick Perry? No.

Move South, please. Always humid and no clothing dilemma. (white lies ok)

Wait. Still with the ricotta cheese? Must do some research on trace elements found in ricotta cheese that you may be craving...

Show us pictures of the new 'do.

blue is your color, Mama. I take arthritis meds but I highly recommend magnesium for aching hips (its more likely menopause vs arthritis)

Ricotta? Rick Perry's brain is made of ricotta cheese...

Oh, yeh, please someone explain Perry! What a gaff last night! LOL!

Who's doing your hair? Let me know if you like her/him as I am never returning to the human that did my last hair cut disaster.

And home-made ricotta? Delicious! And easy-peasy.

Re: the 1/2 marathon- go to Jef Galloway's website and download the training program for the 1/2 marathon (the one to finish). It's only three times a week and only one day has distance. You can do this. As for ricotta cheese, try it drizzled with honey and prepare to swoon.

Thank goodness for Daryl, only she could explain RP.

yes, please a shot of the new you do.

A half marathon is..13.1094 mi.

I did that once.. never again... I stuck with 5k's. fast twitch muscles you know.

I can't cope without my reading glasses either. It's a bit depressing when you realise you need them for more and more things, like I can't read price tags anymore. So I now need to take my glasses with me when I shop or just go out of the house. Damn, when did I get old?

crisis averted! I was worried about your wardrobe for the day.

I like your choice of attire for today. And yes, arthritis pain can wake you up. I know this for a fact.

I have like six pairs of reading glasses, all scattered around the house. And still I hunt for them. Sigh.

Glad to hear you finally got dressed, LOL.

I didn't find much about ricotta cheese cravings, but there was one reference to cottage cheese(very similar) cravings that talked about a possible calcium deficiency.

I also found out, based on the things I crave, none of which are good for a human being, that I am either insulin resistant; in adrenal distress; or have one foot in the grave and another on a banana peel--take your pick.

Up your calcium dosage!

Honestly, I can never seem to find *transitional* clothing for this part of the country. Right now I'm spending hours trying to figure out what to wear. What a waste of time! It makes me feel totally OCD.
