Oh, yes! I remember the first time I saw the Grand Canyon. I was stunned! It took my breath away. The photos simply can't convey the sheer scope of it- the size, the color, the enormity. A must see.
Still gotta go there ... even from the sky, it is remarkable. But you'll NEVER get me out on that glass platform they built hanging out into the canyon! Yikes!
Been there, done that! Went there in '07 with Nurse Nancy and family to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We took a helicopter tour - what a vantage point that was!
Gorgeous .. after seeing Red Rock Canyon outside of Vegas I have been aching to get to the Grand Canyon. How totally awesome for you to have had the chance to spend time there.
What struck me was the sound. If you close your eyes you are aware of a vast empty space in front of you, and it's powerful. The last time I was there we got caught in a blizzard (in April), and the canyon filled up with clouds in seconds. If magic exists, it comes from the Grand Canyon.
Oh--it's definitely on ours--and for next summer with our son and his family. We're going to rent and RV and take a 2 week trip from VA to there and back. The little ones will only be 7 and 5, but I'm hoping there'll be something to interest them.
Oh! I forgot WE'LL be with them--they love us, and we love them! I'll take plenty of pencils and paper and crayons and scissors--well, might as well start packing up right now!
But we're in our almost mid-60s --my husband and I--and we don't want to wait any longer. Sometimes, with Fibromyalgia, I can barely get out of the house in the mornings--so I've gotta have a lot of prayers to go with me! I'm so thankful for our son and DIl, who are always willing and able to go with us, and help out.
I love the quote..........so appropriate for Arizona.....LOVE LOVE LOVE your pictures.....they are beautiful!!! I loved having the opportunity of spending time with you my friend.....YOU'RE THE BEST!

Yeah I agree, photos just simply don't show how amazing the Grand Canyon is.
So did you do the helicopter trip? That was fantastic!
Wish I was there!
I've flown over it; does that not count?
Yep, that one is checked off.
Nepal and Tibet are still there.
What a work of art God provided us with, a little bit of heaven on earth. Did you get to see the beautiful colors of the canyon at sunset?
Yep it's on my list! Awesome pictures Mama!

I want that sweatshirt! And, yes, it is one of the most stunning, strike me speechless places I've ever seen.
beautiful and so glad you are home!
Simply gorgeous! Thank you for sharing!! :)
Absolutely!!!
I think you have to be in AOA to get the shirt, Annie. Never been here. Looks like a must see.
I was fortunate enough to see this back in 1976 on one certain cross country family vacation. But it is a mystical experience, seeing this place.
There are two places I insist on taking my kids someday (money is currently a problem, but SOME day) and that's the Grand Canyon and the Grand Tetons.
They're both grand beyond words.
Someday ... *sigh*

1978 cross country camping with my Bro. Beautiful, but agree, no photos can capture it. Even with my own eyes, I had trouble!!
I NEED to go there!!
Yup, it's been on my Bucket List for as long as I can remember. What splendid beauty!
I have never been, and it IS on my bucket list!
