Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

The white stuff is on the schedule for later today. We don't have any woods or a stream, but we have open areas where the snow can just blow and blow. Brrrrr.............
Snow on the ground and ice on the river here...Have a calm and peaceful Sunday!
Such perfect prose to go with that beautiful photo. I like the dark and cold feel of it.
I live for moments to stand there and see what you saw in person. You were blessed.
How beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
Pretty picture. Though I'm not liking all this snow.
I wish my creek was as beautiful...loved this!
One of my favorite poems! No snow for us this year so far. I did see 2 or 3 flakes on New Year's Eve & that was it. Hope you can curl up by the fire with a good book...
This is my favorite Frost poem. Lovely photo, my friend ~
so beautiful...reminds me of the creek very near my sister's house in Park Ridge...or the mighty rive near my home...

Good selection to go with this snowy weather.
Such a peaceful winter scene.
Congratulations on POTW.
One of prettiest snow scenes ever - so serene, yet sinister, as if the water could beckon one into jumping into its icy depths.
Congrats on POTW!
That is a beautiful photograph. Ansel Adams would be proud of you. My heartiest congratulations for being chosen as a POTW. Well deserved.
This is lovely, Mental P. Congratulations on being a POTW over at Hilary's blog.
